BREAKOUT KINGS (A&E) - Co-creator Nick Santora announced via Twitter that A&E has canceled the drama after two seasons. The news comes within days of fellow co-creator Matt Olmstead signing on to oversee NBC's newcomer "Chicago Fire." Hoping to give viewers some closure, Santora detailed what was in store should the show have continued: "How it ends. BOKs pretend to turn Ray in but double cross Marshals so they go free & Ray walks. Shea gets rich w/ elbow savers. Erica raises daughter in the country. Ray starts private security biz, lives near his daughter. Lloyd & Jules marry. Name their son Charlie." The show's sophomore run averaged 1.514 million viewers and a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49, a 20% dip from its season one average in the former category (1.890 million viewers, 0.8 adults 18-49 rating). FM (The CW, New!) - The netlet is developing a domestic take on the short-lived U.K. series, about the antics of DJ Lindsay Carol (Chris O'Dowd), his co-host, Dom Cox (Kevin Bishop), and producer, Jane (Nina Sosanya), as they work on an indie music show for radio station Skin FM. No auspices were given for the adaptation, nor was it clear if original creators Ian Curtis and Oliver Lansley will be involved. The original incarnation made its debut in the States on DirecTV last year. Said half-hour is one of two still being considered by the network, the other being the previously announced "Swordfighting," from Ben McMillan and Josh Greenbaum. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Nickelodeon's "iCarly" will wrap its run after five seasons with its series finale set for November (TVGuide.com); "Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes took to Twitter to respond to the developments in tonight's season finale (@ShondaRhimes); TNT and Lifetime are both reportedly in preliminary talks with CBS Television Studios and Sony Pictures Television to revive their recently axed CBS drama "Unforgettable" (Deadline.com); Warner Bros. Television and The CW are still hammering out the episode order for the upcoming final season of "Gossip Girl" (Deadline.com); Pooch Hall is the latest cast member of "The Game" set to depart the BET series (TVLine.com); The CW's "The Selection," FOX's "Guilty" and ABC's "Gotham," "Only Fools and Horses" and "American Judy" are all still being considered for series orders by their respective networks while FOX's "El Jefe" and CBS's "Super Fun Night" and "Oh F---, It's You" are being shopped to cable outlets (Deadline.com); and ABC's "Red Widow" and NBC's "Next Caller" are reportedly the only midseason series with short orders this season at eight and seven episodes, respectively (Deadline.com).
