AMC Receives Three Golden Globe Nominations Most for any Basic Cable Network

Original Scripted Series "Mad Men" Recognized in Drama Series, Lead Actor and Lead Actress Categories by Hollywood Foreign Press Association

New York, New York - December 11, 2008 - This morning The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards. AMC's award winning original series "Mad Men" was honored receiving three nominations, the most for any basic cable network.

The following is a statement on behalf of AMC President and General Manager Charlie Collier:

In 2007, AMC received two Golden Globes for the network's first original series "Mad Men," winning for Best Television Series Drama and Best Performance in a Television Series Drama for Jon Hamm. At the Primetime Emmy Awards, "Mad Men" went on to make history as the first basic cable drama to win Best Drama Series. In 2006, AMC received three Golden Globe nominations for the network's first-ever original movie event, "Broken Trail" The miniseries starring Robert Duvall and Thomas Hayden Church went on to garner several industry awards including four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Miniseries, Outstanding Lead Actor, Outstanding Supporting Actor, and Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries.

Set in early 1960s New York, "Mad Men" follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising.
