Friday's Broadcast Ratings: Soft Starts for "The Job" Premiere, "Touch" Return

Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

ABC (6.047 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) was the top draw on Friday with its usual mix of "Last Man Standing" (7.348 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T2), "Malibu Country" (6.186 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6), "Shark Tank" (6.186 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.9, #1) and "20/20" (5.189 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6).

The silver then went to NBC (6.529 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #2) with a new two-hour "Dateline NBC" (7.041 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T4) followed by the relocated "Rock Center With Brian Williams" (5.506 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #T6).

Next up was CBS (8.226 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #3) with the bow of "The Job" (4.115 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10) plus originals from "CSI: NY" (9.438 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #T2) and "Blue Bloods" (11.124 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T4).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.765 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #4) offered up the return of "Touch" (3.937 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #9) and a second hour of "Touch" (3.594 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

And finally, a new "Nikita" (1.416 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12) and a repeat of "The Carries Diaries" (0.639 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.3, #13) closed out the night for The CW (1.027 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5). In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Nikita" delivered a 0.4 rating at 8:00/7:00c and "Carrie" a 0.4 rating at 9:00/8:00c.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 Wednesday results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 1.0/4; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.9/4.

* From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET Wednesday night, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.6/5 in metered-market households and a 0.6/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

* From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.7/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.4/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.0/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (2/10/12):

CBS (10.31 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) remained the network to beat on Friday with a new "A Gifted Man" (8.81 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9), the winter finale of "CSI: NY" (10.34 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #3) and a new "Blue Bloods" (11.77 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T1).

A competitive ABC (5.23 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #2) then snagged the silver with fresh installments of "Shark Tank" (5.91 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T1), "Primetime: What Would You Do?" (4.62 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T5) and "20/20" (5.16 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.4, #8).

Next up was NBC (5.32 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.4, #3) and its lineup of "Who Do You Think You Are?" (5.53 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #T9), "Grimm" (5.24 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.6, #4) and "Dateline NBC" (5.18 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T5).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.29 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.3, #4) served up original installments of "Kitchen Nightmares" (3.56 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T5) and "Fringe" (3.03 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.1, #11).

And finally, new episodes of "Nikita" (1.45 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.5, #13) and "Supernatural" (1.85 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12) on The CW (1.65 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) closed out the evening.
