Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: "The Big Bang Theory" Original Sparks CBS Victory

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/19/17):

CBS (8.198 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.7, #1) was the network to beat on Thursday with new episodes from "The Big Bang Theory" (15.047 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.3, #1), "The Great Indoors" (8.103 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T2), "Mom" (8.513 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T2), "Life in Pieces" (6.910 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4) and "Pure Genius" (5.308 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12).

NBC (5.043 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) then was the silver draw with its mix of "The Good Place" (3.965 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7), the seaosn finale of "The Good Place" (3.789 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T7) and new episodes from "Chicago Med" (6.303 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.2, #6) and "The Blacklist" (4.949 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #9).

Sharing second place was FOX (3.188 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T2) with originals from "Hell's Kitchen" (3.911 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5) and "My Kitchen Rules" (2.465 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

Meanwhile, ABC (3.944 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.8, #4) opted for repeats of "Grey's Anatomy" (3.977 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12) and "Scandal" (2.985 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #14) plus a special "20/20" (4.871 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T10).

And finally, repeats of "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (0.976 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.2, #16) and "Supernatural" (0.857 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) closed out the night for The CW (0.916 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5).

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.3/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.1/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.3/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

FOX (9.281 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.4, #1) was the network to beat on Thursday with a new "American Idol" (8.909 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3) followed by a second hour of "American Idol" (9.654 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1).

CBS (8.000 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.6, #2) then claimed the silver with a repeat of "The Big Bang Theory" (11.024 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #2) followed by new episodes of "Life in Pieces" (8.806 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #4), "Mom" (8.510 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #5), "Angel from Hell" (7.015 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.4, #T7) and "Elementary" (6.322 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #10).
