Tuesday's Broadcast Ratings: "This Is Us" Returns on Top in Demos for NBC

Here are the highlights of the 16 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (1/9/18):

NBC (8.202 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #1) was the demo champ on Tuesday thanks to new episodes of "Ellen's Game of Games" (7.978 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2), "This Is Us" (9.700 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) and "Chicago Med" (6.928 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4).

Second place then went to CBS (11.058 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.3, #2) with its trio of "NCIS" (14.155 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #3), "Bull" (10.426 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #6) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (8.595 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7).

Next up was ABC (3.394 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) and its mix of "The Middle" (5.391 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5), "Fresh Off the Boat" (3.626 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7), "Black-ish" (3.768 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7), a repeat "Modern Family" (2.699 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T11) and "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World" (2.441 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T13).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.277 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.9, #T3) offered up originals from "Lethal Weapon" (4.233 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T7), "LA to Vegas" (2.634 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T11) and "The Mick" (2.010 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.7, #T13).

And finally, The CW (0.885 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.2, #5) opted for repeats of "The Flash" (0.890 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.3, #15) and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" (0.880 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.2, #16).

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.5/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.3/5 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

NBC (8.351 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) took home top honors on Tuesday with its mix of "The Wall" (7.074 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T4), "NBC News Special" (8.568 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #3), a repeat "The Wall" (9.259 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.7, #1) and the return of "This Is Us" (9.067 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.6, #2).

ABC (4.996 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then had to settle for second place with its combination of "The Middle" (7.238 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.7, #T4), "American Housewife" (5.951 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.5, #6), "ABC News Special" (5.573 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.3, #8), a repeat "Fresh Off the Boat" (5.761 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.4, #7) and the winter premiere of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" (2.728 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T15).

Next up was CBS (7.354 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) with a repeat "NCIS" (10.069 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T10), "CBS News Special" (7.076 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #9) and second runs of "The Big Bang Theory" (6.407 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T10) and "NCIS: New Orleans" (5.253 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #17).

Meanwhile, FOX (3.087 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.0, #T3) offered up originals from "New Girl" (2.572 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T10) and "The Mick" (3.021 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T10) followed by "FOX News Special" (2.593 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T15) and a new "Bones" (3.435 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 1.0, #14).

And finally, a repeat "The Flash" (1.126 million viewers, #18; adults 18-49: 0.3, #18) and the penultimate week of "No Tomorrow" (0.810 million viewers, #19; adults 18-49: 0.2, #19) closed out the night on The CW (0.968 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.3, #5).
