DESCRIPTION:
(from truTV's press release, January 2017) Additionally, truTV has also ordered two new pilot presentations for concepts currently in development. First, from creator and host Amanda Seales (Insecure, truTV's Greatest Ever) comes the new comedic social commentary game show, Smart, Funny and Black. Based on her monthly live comedy show of the same name, Seales challenges professional funny folks (comics, writers, producers) to compete in various games that test their knowledge, taste, and understanding of current and historical black popular culture. Each episode, Amanda crowns one winner and their portrait is added to the wall of the "Illustrious League of Master Blacksperts." Smart, Funny and Black is produced by Main Event Media and All3Media America, with Seales, Jimmy Fox and Greg Lipstone executive-producing. Seales also currently brings her unique comedy voice t o truTV as the host of the pop-culture comedy countdown show Greatest Ever, airing Fridays on truTV. |
