9J 9K 9L (CBS) - The multi-camera comedy - about a guy (Mark Feuerstein) who lives in apartment 9K in the building he grew up in, sandwiched between his parents' apartment, 9J, and his brother, sister-in-law and their baby's apartment, 9L, and attempts to set boundaries with his intrusive but well-meaning family - has been ordered to pilot by the network. Feuerstein and Dana Klein co-wrote the half-hour for CBS Television Studios with Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor and Wendi Trilling also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
COUNTERPART (Starz) - Guy Burnet has booked a recurring role on the upcoming series as Claude Lambert, an "arrogant and high-living French ambassador from the 'Other Side' whose bonhomie covers an intrinsic ruthlessness." (Deadline.com)
JANE THE VIRGIN (The CW) - Johnny Messner is set to recur on the current season as Chuck, "confident and smarmy, aka 'Chuck the Marauder,' he is the new owner of the adults-only hotel next door." (Deadline.com)
MAJOR CRIMES (TNT) - Keegan Allen will drop by the show's season five finale as Aiden Reed, "a handsome and successful young restaurateur with the means, money, and determination to separate Rusty from Gus." (EW.com)
MISSION CONTROL (CBS, New!) - The Martian author Andy Weir has scored a pilot commitment from the Eye for a new drama about "the next generation of NASA astronauts and scientists who juggle their personal and professional lives during a critical mission with no margin for error." Simon Kinberg, Charles Eglee, Courtney Conte, Quan Phung and Aditya Sood are also on board to executive produce for CBS Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
NICKY, RICKY, DICKY & DAWN (Nickelodeon) - Three-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas will guest star on the series as Twisty, "the head of the Gold Medal Girls who resides in the land of the munchkins, in the show's one-hour season-three finale." (THR.com)
UNTITLED PAUL WILLIAM DAVIES PROJECT (ABC) - Paul William Davies's drama - which follows brand new lawyers in the Southern District of New York Federal Court working for both the defense and the prosecution as they handle the most high profile and high stakes cases in the country, all as their personal lives intersect - is formally heading to pilot at the Alphabet. Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers of the ABC Studios-based Shondaland will likewise executive produce. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED TOM STRAW PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Tom Straw ("The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson") has sold a potential comedy to the Alphabet about "a beautiful Muslim model as she inches toward her 30th birthday. As her career starts to slow down, she's confronted by challenges she never faced before and starts questioning the choices she's making with her life. When she's forced to move back home with her opinionated brothers, she discovers that they're all on the same quest to reinvent themselves." Straw will pen the teleplay from a story he conceived with Zainab Johnson as well as executive produce alongside Push It Productions' Wanda Sykes and Page Hurwitz for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
