9-1-1: NASHVILLE (ABC) - Jessica Capshaw will star opposite Chris O'Donnell in the newcomer as "the mother of the as-yet-uncast series lead character Ryan and wife of O'Donnell's character Captain Don Sharpe." (Deadline.com, 4/15)
BASED ON A TRUE STORY/MR. THROWBACK (Peacock) - The streamer has pulled the plug on both series after two seasons and one season, respectively. (Variety.com, 4/15)
BOOK OF JOSE, THE (Starz) - A proposed series based on the life of Joseph "Fat Joe" Cartagena has found a new home at Starz. Kenya Barris and Dominic Colón are penning the new incarnation, described as "a scripted series based on the rags-to-riches story of Grammy-nominee Fat Joe, and chronicles his evolution from growing up in the Bronx to becoming a global superstar with a career spanning over three decades." Director Jessy Terrero and E. Brian Dobbins will also executive produce for Khalabo Ink Society, Artists First and BET Studios. (Deadline.com, 4/17)
CARRIE SOTO IS BACK (Netflix, New!) - Amanda Kate Shuman has sold a small screen take on Taylor Jenkins Reid's novel to the streamer: "Carrie Soto Is Back follows tennis legend Carrie Soto, whose determination to win at all costs has not made her popular. But by the time she retires from tennis, she is the best player the world has ever seen. Six years after her retirement, her world record might be taken from her by a brutal, stunning player named Nicki Chan. At 37 years old, Carrie makes the monumental decision to come out of retirement and be coached by her father for one last year in an attempt to reclaim her record. And to make matters more complicated, she is joined in the journey back by her on-again, off-again romance, Bowe Huntley. In spite of it all, Carrie Soto is back for one epic final season to be remembered." Shuman, Reid, Serena Williams, Caroline Currier and Brad Mendelsohn are the executive producers for Nine Two Six Productions, Picturestart, Circle Management + Production, and Fifth Season. CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Daniel Kyri's Darren Ritter and Jake Lockett's Sam Carver will both depart the series at the end of the current season. Kyri's exit comes after seven seasons, Lockett's after three. (Deadline.com, 4/16)
CITADEL/CITADEL: DIANA/CITADEL: HONEY BUNNY (Amazon) - The streamer has officially canceled the franchise's international offshoots: "Having successfully traversed India and Italy, storylines from both Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana will be woven into the upcoming second season of the mothership series Citadel," said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. "While these successful and widely enjoyed international chapters will not continue as individual series, Season 2 of Citadel will be our most exhilarating yet. With high-stakes storytelling, new additions to our amazing cast and bold, cinematic ambition, the new season will deepen the emotional journeys of Nadia, Mason and Orlick against the relentless force that is Manticore. We're excited to share what's next when Citadel Season 2 premieres globally in Q2 of 2026." (Deadline.com, 4/16)
CLEAN SLATE (Amazon) - The Laverne Cox/George Wallace-led comedy has been canceled after one season. (Deadline.com, 4/18)
CLUELESS (Peacock) - Alicia Silverstone is attached to reprise her role of Cher in a proposed sequel series to the 1995 film at the streamer. Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Jordan Weiss are behind the project, which succeeds a previous effort in 2020 from Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey focusing on Stacey Dash's Dionne character. All four will executive produce alongside Amy Heckerling and Robert Lawrence for Fake Empire, CBS Studios and Universal Television. (Deadline.com, 4/17)
COUNT MY LIES (Hulu, New!) - Lindsay Lohan is attached to star in a new drama at the streamer: "In Count My Lies, when compulsive liar Sloane Caraway fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet and Jay Lockhart, it seems she's finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she's just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode - with potentially catastrophic consequences for all." Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are behind the project, which is based on the novel by Sophie Stava and is set at their 20th Television-based The Walk-Up Company. Lohan, Aptaker, Berger and Scott Morgan will executive produce with Stava receiving a producer credit. (Deadline.com, 4/16)
DEAD LETTERS (Netflix, New!) - Lucy Hale is set to topline a proposed drama at the streamer: "Dead Letters is described as an addictive mystery whodunit-meets-psychological thriller centered on a pair of identical twin sisters: Ava and Zelda, played by Hale. When Ava returns home to the family vineyard in the wake of Zelda's sudden death, she must find out who murdered her beloved twin while reckoning with dangerous revelations about the woman Zelda had become in her absence. To complicate matters: Zelda knew she was in serious danger - so she left behind letters for Ava. Zelda's cryptic and gut-wrenching "dead letters" send Ava on a twisted scavenger hunt for the truth - forcing Ava to question everyone she's ever loved." Writer Rachel Caris Love and director Liz Friedlander are behind the project, which is based on Caite Dolan-Leach's novel. The quartet will executive produce alongside Aaron Kaplan, Brian Morewitz, Elissa Leeds, Alex Cooper, Matt Kaplan and Mina Lefevre for Kapital Entertainment, Morewitz Media, Reel Talent Management and Unwell. DEXTER: RESURRECTION (Showtime) - Marc Menchaca and Reese Antoinette will both guest on the upcoming series as Red and Joy, "Blessing Kamara's (Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine) headstrong daughter," respectively. No other details were given. (Deadline.com, 4/14)
EMILY IN PARIS (Netflix) - Camille Razat's Camille won't return for the series' upcoming fifth season. (Deadline.com, 4/17)
FAUDA (Netflix) - Mélanie Laurent has signed onto the Israeli drama in a top secret role, appearing in seven of the nine episodes this season. (Deadline.com, 4/14)
FOREIGN SERVICE (NBC, New!) - Aaron Brownstein and Simon Ganz have sold a new comedy to the network: "Foreign Service follows the American and local staff of a small U.S. Embassy overseas as they navigate interpersonal and international incidents." Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com, 4/16)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Piper Perabo has scored a three-episode arc on the series as Jenna Gatlin, "a fierce mother who will do anything for her 9-year-old daughter Dylan, who is at Grey Sloan for a high-risk brain surgery." (Variety.com, 4/17)
HACKS (Max) - Medalion Rahimi will guest on the show's April 24 episode in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Variety.com, 4/16)
IMPERFECT WOMEN (Apple TV+) - Corey Stoll and Joel Kinnaman are the latest additions to the limited series as Howard and Robert, respectively. No other details were given. (Variety.com, 4/18)
IT'S NOT LIKE THAT (Amazon) - Erinn Hayes will star opposite Scott Foley in the faith-based drama, which has also added Brad Silberling to direct the debut installment. The series "follows Lori (Hayes), who is freshly divorced with two teens. Malcolm's (Foley) a minister and recently widowed dad of three. Their families once did everything together, but now Lori and Malcolm must navigate their newly minted singledom, parenthood and the complexities of Malcolm being a modern-day minister. Is this the beginning of a love story? It's not like that. Or is it?" (Deadline.com, 4/16)
NIGHT COURT (NBC) - Simon Helberg and Raegan Revord will both drop by the show's May 6 season finale. Helberg will appear in "a game-changing cameo that could really shake things up for Abby (Melissa Rauch)"; with Revord as Shelby, "a teenage runaway inclined to marry her soulmate, in an homage to the Michael J. ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING (Hulu) - Beanie Feldstein will recur on the show's fifth season in a customarily top secret role. (Deadline.com, 4/15)
PACIFIC RIM (Amazon, New!) - Eric Heisserer's proposed small screen take on the film franchise has landed at Amazon MGM Studios: "In "Pacific Rim," an inter-dimensional rift opens at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, allowing massive monsters (a.k.a kaijus) to enter our world and begin attacking humanity. In response, humans begin constructing giant fighting robots called Jaegers." Believed to be a prequel to the films, he'll executive produce the project via his Chronology banner for Legendary Television. (Variety.com, 4/17)
SEVEN SISTERS (FX) - Meredith Hagner, Odessa Young, Zoë Winters, Bridget Brown, and Carolyn Kettig will join Elizabeth Olsen and Cristin Milioti as the titular sisters in the drama pilot with Philip Ettinger also cast as their brother. Anthony Edwards and J. Smith-Cameron also star as their father and mother, Paul and Franchesa Bosco, respectively. (Deadline.com, 4/15)
TEMPTATION ISLAND (Netflix) - The streamer has commissioned a second season of its incarnation of the reality series. (Variety.com, 4/17)
UNTITLED MIKE WILLIAMS PROJECT (Hulu, New!) - Plum Pictures and ABC News Studios are behind a new four-part series docuseries at the streamer due this summer. The project is "about the murder of Mike Williams, a Baptist from Florida who was originally thought to have been eaten by alligators." No specific auspices were given. (Deadline.com, 4/16)
UNTITLED MURDAUGH MURDERS (Hulu) - Noah Emmerich, Kathleen Wilhoite and Tommy Dewey have all scored roles on the limited series. Emmerich will play Randy Murdaugh: "Strait-laced and by the book, he is the antithesis to his wild card younger brother Alex in life and in the legal profession." Wilhoite is Gloria Satterfield: "The Murdaughs' loyal and doting housekeeper for decades, Gloria helped raise Buster and Paul from infancy." And Dewey is Mark Tinsley: "Dashing, confident, smart, and connected, Mark Tinsley is a prosecutor who's an old hunting buddy of Alex's and is now representing the parents of the girl who lost her life in the boat accident."
