BRILLIANT MINDS (NBC) - Nava Mau and Malia Pyles are both slated to appear on the current season. Mau will play Denise, "who is found collapsed after a night at the club. Her air of mystery is punctured when the team discovers what exactly this party girl is running from." And Pyles is Nora Sutton, "a mechanical engineering student by day who hangs with her Theta Epsilon Phi sisters by night. She's not your typical sorority girl in any sense. While Nora loves her tight-knit circle of sorority sisters, her truest partner-in-crime is her nerdy older sister." (Deadline.com, 1/5)
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER (REBOOT SERIES) (Hulu) - The franchise's proposed revival has an official moniker: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale." (@ShutUpEvan, 1/7)

GANG WARS (A&E, New!) - The cable channel is developing a new true-crime series from G-Unit Film & Television and Citizen Jones: "Gang Wars (working title) is a raw, unfiltered true-crime series that rips open America's most infamous gang rivalries with unprecedented access and never-before-heard accounts - exposing the street battles, betrayals and power plays that built our modern criminal world." Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Jonah Bekhor, and Jonas Bell Pasht are among the featured auspices. (Deadline.com, 1/6)
HAPPY'S PLACE (NBC) - Jane Lynch and Eric Stonestreet are the latest faces bound for the comedy series. Lynch will play Valerie, "the mother of Melissa Peterman's character, Gabby, who visits her daughter for the first time and reveals an unexpected secret." And Stonestreet is set as Dr. Russell Peabody III, "an unconventional therapist who attempts to help Bobbie (Reba McEntire) and Isabella (Belissa Escobedo) resolve their conflicts." (Variety.com, 1/8)
I SUCK AT GIRLS (Netflix, New!) - Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker have scored a series commitment for a new comedy at the service: "The series revolves around three awkward high school sophomores who stumble through the messy world of teenage romance and identity, learning that sucking at girls is just part of growing up." The project, which may be cast-contingent, is based on Halpern's book of the same name. The book was also the genesis of the short-lived 2014 FOX series "Surviving Jack." Chet Dave, Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, and Liza Katzer will also executive produce for Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, Doozer, and Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com, 1/9)
LAST CHANCE LAWYER (NBC, New!) - Henry Winkler is attached to star in a proposed comedy at the network from Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller: "Last Chance Lawyer centers on Howard Greenberg (Winkler), a hard-driving and unconventional criminal defense attorney who is a fierce advocate for his underdog clients, believing that no matter what they are accused of, the system is always guiltier." The trio will also executive produce alongside Jed Mercurio and Jimmy Mulville for Hat Trick Media and Universal Television. (Deadline.com, 1/6)
MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT (Peacock) - Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson, and Dr. Pia Holec, the show's resident experts, will not return for the franchise's 20th season. "We're thrilled to be embarking on a brand new chapter of the 'MAFS' journey with our partners at Peacock. We're excited for the future and honored to have worked alongside Dr. Pepper, Pastor Cal, and Dr. Pia," said Kinetic founder and CEO Chris Coelen. "Dr. Pepper has been with us from the beginning and Pastor Cal joined us shortly thereafter; their unwavering wisdom, insight, and passion has been a guiding light for us throughout the seasons." (Variety.com, 1/6)
MONSTER: THE LIZZIE BORDEN STORY (Netflix) - Joey Pollari will appear in the new installment as John Morse, "the infamous accused axe murderer's uncle." (Variety.com, 1/7)
POSER (Netflix) - Daisy Jelley and Annie Murphy will topline the YA drama series in yet-to-be-revealed roles. (Deadline.com, 1/7)
RAINMAKER, THE (USA Network) - Austin Nichols is bound for the show's sophomore run as "Bruiser's (Lana Parilla) ex-husband, a minor league baseball coach and former player who finds himself in the middle of a dangerous conspiracy." (Deadline.com, 1/8)
