AND JUSTICE FOR ALL (Netflix, New!) - Jeremy Miller and Dan Cohn have sold a small screen take on the 1979 movie to the streamer: "And Justice for All is described as a gritty look at an idealistic attorney's flawed life as he struggles to fight a corrupted legal system until he finally snaps." Ross Fineman of Fineman Entertainment will also executive produce. (Deadline.com, 6/2)
AUDACITY, THE (AMC) - Jess McLeod's Harper will return as a regular for the series' second season. (Deadline.com, 6/3)
CABLE GUY, THE (Hulu, New!) - Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. are attached to star in a small screen take on the 1996 film at the streamer: "In a world of endless streaming, binging, and algorithms, old-school cable technician Chip Douglas (Johnson) languishes alone - until Steven Stephens (Wayans Jr.) calls to have his cable turned back on, reconnecting Chip with a childhood friend he never forgot. The relationship gives each man something he's been missing... until Chip's enthusiasm turns into obsession. Inspired by the movie, the show explores the darkly absurd side of modern-day male friendship." Rob Rosell and Joe Piarulli & Luan Thomas are behind the comedy, which has a pilot order, with Johnson, Wayans Jr. and Original Film's Neal H. CHAIN, THE (HBO) - Michael Sarnoski will direct and executive produce the debut installment of the network's Adrian McKinty adaptation. (Deadline.com, 6/2)
CHALLENGER, THE (Amazon) - Will Arnett will star opposite Kristen Stewart in the streamer's Sally Ride limited series as George Abbey "who, as Director of Flight Crew Operations for NASA's Space Shuttle, assigned Ride to the crew of 1983's STS-7." (Deadline.com, 6/2)
CHICKS (Hulu, New!) - Ellen Pompeo will topline a family dramedy pilot at the streamer: "Chicks is set in the rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods of old Boston. It follows Chickie (Pompeo) and Doreen, two estranged half-sisters who are both struggling to get by when their wise guy dad unexpectedly kicks the bucket. Their only inheritance is a legacy of two-bit crime that inspires them to run increasingly audacious frauds. As their con grows, so does their odd-couple bond, as they each start to fill the father-shaped hole in the other's heart." Katie Robbins is behind the hour with Pompeo and Laura Holstein also executive producing for Calamity Jane and 20th Television. (Deadline.com, 6/4)
COP LAND (Paramount+, New!) - James Mangold's TV take on his 1997 movie has landed at the streamer: "Cop Land starred Stallone as the sheriff of a small New Jersey town who comes into conflict with the corrupt New York City police officers who live there." Mangold co-created the hour with Robert Levine and will helm the debut installment should it move forward. Paramount Television Studios and Miramax Television are producing. (Deadline.com, 6/5)
DEBBIE (HBO Max, New!) - Gabrielle Union is in talks to star in a proposed drama at the streamer: "It centers on Debbie Powell (a role earmarked for Union), a once-feared attorney whose spectacular public downfall forces her to rebuild her life and career as a public defender, using the skills, connections, and relentless drive that once made her one of Atlanta's most formidable lawyers to fight for those the system has left behind, one explosive case at a time." Bradley Bredeweg and Matthew Thomas are behind the project with Union and Jenny Frankfurt also executive producing for I'll Have Another Productions. No studio was indicated. (Deadline.com, 6/4)
ELIZABETH BANKS COMEDY SERIES (Apple TV) - Katey Sagal has boarded the upcoming project as Mavis, "described as Heidi's (Banks) dad's (Ted Danson) new girlfriend." (Variety.com, 6/1)
HOLDING COURT (ABC, New!) - Alfredo Barrios Jr. is developing a new drama at the Alphabet: "Holding Court is a character-driven one-hour dramedy following a brilliant, stubborn yet book-smart paralegal who teams up with a charismatic, street-smart attorney who barely passed the bar to help run her father's law firm after his death." Ross Fineman of Fineman Entertainment will also executive produce. No studio was indicated. (Deadline.com, 6/1)
HUNTING PARTY, THE (NBC) - The network has pulled the plug on the drama after two seasons. Producer Universal Television plans to shop the project elsewhere. (Deadline.com, 6/2)
INTERN, THE (Peacock, New!) - Writer Julia Cohen and director George Tillman Jr. have sold a small screen take on Michele Campbell's book to the streamer: "In it, when her brother is arrested, Harvard Law student Madison Rivera cuts a deal with the DOJ to save him by infiltrating the chambers of the most powerful judge in Boston, Judge Kathryn Conroy. But what begins as a mission soon veers into obsession and a dangerous game between two brilliant women who are more alike than either will admit." Robert Teitel and Robert Prinz will also executive produce for State Street Pictures and Universal Television with Campbell as a producer. (Deadline.com, 6/3)
LIFE IS STRANGE (Amazon) - The video game-turned-TV series has added Billy Barratt as Nathan, "one of Chloe and Max's classmates"; Emily Carey as Victoria Chase, "one of Nathan's best friends"; Esther McGregor as Rachel Amber, "the student who goes missing"; Faly Rakotohavana as Warren, "another friend of Max's"; and Mia Isaac as Kate Marsh, "a good friend of Max's." LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE (Netflix) - The show's sophomore run has added Rachelle Lefevre and Charlotte Sullivan as new series regulars. Lefevre will play Eva Beadle, "the town schoolteacher that Mary (Skywalker Hughes) and Laura Ingalls (Alice Halsey) immediately adore. Open-minded, passionate, forthright and brave, Eva is well-educated, well-read, adventurous, generous of spirit, a world-traveler." And Sullivan is Margaret Oleson, "mother of Nellie Oleson, who is played by another Season 2 hire, Willa Dunn. Beautiful, high-energy, charming, unfiltered, fun and funny, with a quick wit and gallows humor, Margaret adores her daughter fiercely and completely, but also fears losing her love." MEASURE, THE (NBC, New!) - Marc Guggenheim is developing a new drama at the network based on the bestselling novel by Nikki Erlick about "a worldwide phenomenon where every adult on Earth receives a string that predicts how long they have left to live." Barack Obama and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions is producing. No studio was indicated. (marcguggenheim, 6/5)
MR. & MRS. SMITH (Amazon) - Matt Rogers has been cast as one of the titular Mr. Smiths in the upcoming season. (Deadline.com, 6/3)
MY MOM'S MURDER (Hulu, New!) - The Chloƫ Grace Moretz-led TV adaptation of the podcast series has landed the streamer: "My Mom's Murder is a podcast hosted by Lauren Malloy and tells the story of how she believed her mother died of a heart condition but it turned out she was murdered." Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin are penning the project with Moretz, Aliza Rosen, Steve Stark, Stacey Levin, and Jackie Levine also executive producing for AYR Media, Toluca Pictures, Audible, and MGM Television, home to Lavender and Ulin's new overall deal. SUSPECT (Hulu, New!) - Marissa Jo Cerar is developing a TV take on the Scott Turow novel at the streamer: "Suspect centers on Pinky, a private investigator who searches for evidence to exonerate a female police chief accused of extorting sex from male officers in exchange for job promotions." Turow, Bruce Miller, and Matt Shakman will also executive produce for MGM Television and 20th Television. (Deadline.com, 6/3)
TULSA KING (Paramount+) - A writers' room is open for a proposed fifth season of the series. Production on season four recent wrapped in Atlanta with "plans to relocate the production to New York for the next season." (Variety.com, 6/3)
UNTITLED STARGATE SERIES (Amazon) - The streamer has shuttered its revival of the sci-fi franchise. Said report indicates executives "were concerned that [showrunner Martin] Gero's take on the series would not have broad appeal beyond the franchise's already dedicated fanbase." Adding: "Although Gero's series will not proceed, Amazon is still exploring new ways to further the franchise." (Variety.com, 6/2)
WE WERE ONCE MEN (Amazon, New!) - "The Boys" alums Chace Crawford and P.J. Byrne are looking to reteam for "a satirical black comedy about male identity in collapse" at Amazon MGM Studios. "Byrne and Chace will play brothers amongst a group of men seeking to rediscover their purpose at the radical Reclaim Retreat that promises the transformation of the modern man." Matt Berns is behind the project with Crawford, Byrne, Jennifer Salke, Matt Milam, Rae Bussola, Alex Dunlap, and Charleston Chambers also executive producing for Sullivan Street Productions.
