BIG SCREEN "SUPERMAN" STAR MARGOT KIDDER TO VISIT THE WB'S "SMALLVILLE"

MOVIE CONNECTION CONTINUES AS KIDDER PLAYS BRIDGETTE CROSBY, EMISSARY TO DR. SWANN, WHO IS PLAYED BY FEATURE FILM MAN OF STEEL, CHRISTOPHER REEVE

Fans of the Superman mythology continue to be rewarded by The WB's SMALLVILLE. Not only will the Lois Lane character (Erica Durance) begin a story arc in the hit show's fourth season premiere on Wednesday, September 22 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET), but Margot Kidder, the woman who played Lane in the four Superman movies will also visit SMALLVILLE in the episode.

Kidder will play Bridgette Crosby, emissary to Dr. Swann, played by big screen Superman, Christopher Reeve. Ms. Kidder will appear in the season premiere as well as the season's sixth episode.

The role of Bridgette Crosby will also reunite Kidder with SMALLVILLE series star Annette O'Toole (Martha Clark), who had co-starred with Kidder in "Superman III," then playing the role of Lana Lang.

After making her major motion picture debut in Norman Jewison's "Gaily, Gaily" in 1969, Kidder starred opposite Gene Wilder in "Quackser Fortune Has a Cousin in the Bronx." She made an impact in a dual role as formerly conjoined twins in Brian De Palma's horror movie "Sisters" and starred in several other movies in the 1970s, including George Roy Hill's "The Great Waldo Pepper," opposite Robert Redford and Susan Sarandon, and "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud."

Following the success of "Superman: The Movie" in 1978, Kidder reprised her role as Lois Lane in "Superman II," 1983's "Superman III" and 1987's "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace."

Among her numerous other film credits are "The Amityville Horror," "Harry O: Such Dust As Dreams Are Made Of," "Black Christmas," "Some Kind of Hero," "Never Met Picasso," "The Hi-Line," "Crime and Punishment" and the 2004 thriller "The Last Sign," opposite Andie MacDowell and Tim Roth.

On television, Kidder has starred in the series "McQueen," "Corwin," "Nichols," "Shell Game" and "Amazon" and the miniseries "To Catch a Killer." Her telefilms include "Suddenly Single," "The Suicide Club," "Honky Tonk," "Bus Stop," "Pygmalion," "The Glitter Dome," "Picking Up the Pieces," "Body of Evidence," "Young Ivanhoe," "Crime in Connecticut: The Story of Alex Kelly," "Someone Is Watching," "Society's Child" and "I'll Be Seeing You." Kidder has guest starred on such series as "The Mod Squad," "Banacek," "Barnaby Jones," "Harry O," "Baretta," "Tales from the Crypt," "Murder, She Wrote," "Boston Common," "Touched by an Angel," "La Femme Nikita," "The Outer Limits" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

Reinterpreting the Superman mythology from its roots, SMALLVILLE was developed for television by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar ("Shanghai Noon," "Spiderman 2"), based on the DC Comics characters. Gough and Millar serve as executive producers, along with Greg Beeman, Ken Horton, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Tollin/Robbins Productions and Millar/Gough Ink. SUPERMAN was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster.
