ABC Sports Announces Its Post-Season Broadcast Team

ABC SPORTS ANNOUNCES ITS POST-SEASON BROADCAST TEAM

Veteran Announcers Brad Nessler and Pro-Football Hall of Famers Bob Griese and Lynn Swann to Call the National Championship Game - the Federal Express Orange Bowl -- Tuesday, January 4, 2005, on the ABC Television Network

As the 2004 regular season winds down, ABC Sports, the network of the Bowl Championship Series, announced today its post-season broadcast teams for its 2005 coverage. Veteran play-by-play announcer Brad Nessler and Pro-Football Hall of Famers Bob Griese and Lynn Swann will call the 2005 BCS National Championship Game - the Federal Express Orange Bowl -- airing Tuesday, January 4, at 8:00 p.m., ET, on the ABC Television Network.

Nessler is in his seventh season as one of network television's most respected play-by-play announcers, while former Miami Dolphins All-Pro QB Bob Griese is a 19-year veteran and one of the game's most insightful analysts. Swann, a former All-Pro wide receiver with the Pittsburgh Steelers, will work the sidelines.

Legendary play-by-play announcer Keith Jackson, the "Voice of College Football," will join analyst and NFL Hall of Famer Dan Fouts in the booth for the Rose Bowl on Saturday, January 1, at 4:30 p.m., ET. Todd Harris will roam the sidelines.

Multi-talented Brent Musburger, who is in his 15th season as one of network television's signature voices, will be joined by eighth-year analyst and longtime NFL QB Gary Danielson on the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on Saturday, January 1, at 8:30 p.m., ET. Jack Arute, a 21-year veteran and one of the top reporters in the industry, will work the sidelines.

ABC's broadcast team of Mike Tirico, Tim Brant and Terry Bowden will team up in a three-man booth to call the Nokia Sugar Bowl on Monday, January 3, at 8:00 p.m., ET. Suzy Shuster will work the sidelines.

In addition, ABC Sports will provide coverage of the Capital One Bowl on Saturday, January 1, at 1:00 p.m., ET, for the 19th consecutive season. Gary Thorne will partner with Ed Cunningham in the booth, while Dr. Jerry Punch reports from the sidelines.

John Saunders, who has hosted a college football studio show longer than anyone in television history, returns for his 13th season as host of ABC Sports College Football Studio show, where he will be joined by standout college and NFL football running back and veteran analyst Craig James and former college and NFL offensive lineman Aaron Taylor.
