ACADEMY AWARD NOMINEE ROBERT FORSTER, GREGG HENRY AND MICHAEL MICHELE STAR IN "THE HUNT FOR THE BTK KILLER," A NEW TELEVISION MOVIE BASED ON THE TRUE STORY, THAT IS NOW IN PRODUCTION IN HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, TO BE BROADCAST SUNDAY, OCT. 9 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

THE HUNT FOR THE BTK KILLER stars Academy Award nominee Robert Forster ("Jackie Brown"), Gregg Henry ("Ballistic: Ecks v. Severs") and Michael Michele ("ER") in a new television movie now in production in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to be broadcast as the "CBS Sunday Movie," Sunday, Oct. 9 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The drama is based on the true story of the notorious serial killer, who after 30 years and 10 unsolved murders in the Midwestern town of Wichita, Kan., was finally found, arrested and convicted this year.

Dennis Rader (Henry) was a seemingly typical family man, a husband, father, Cub Scout leader and one-time president of his church council, living in a close-knit suburb of Wichita, Kansas. Over a 17-year span from 1974-1991, Rader terrorized the Kansas community and murdered 10 residents in the Wichita area. On numerous occasions, Rader, who coined his name BTK - Bind, Torture and Kill -- taunted the local police with clues and cryptic messages. After almost 15 years in seclusion, Rader resurfaced, sending additional clues to the Wichita police department which eventually led to his capture in February 2005. This past June, Rader claimed responsibility for the murders of 10 victims and was convicted in August.

The drama recounts the story of the Wichita police department's massive search for the BTK killer, one of the longest, most baffling manhunts in our nation's crime history. In the drama, detectives Jason Magida (Forster) and Ellen Baines (Michele) are the first to discover that Rader had reappeared and the first to know he had to be stopped before striking again. Magida and Baines characters represent the hard work and dedication of the entire Wichita Police Department.

Robert Forster is an accomplished actor, director and producer. He has appeared in over 90 films, including "Mulholland Dr.," "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Confidence," "Me, Myself & Irene" and "Finder's Fee." In 1998, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his portrayal of Max Cherry in "Jackie Brown." On television, Forster appeared in the series "Karen Sisco" and in the movies "Undefeated," "Murder in Greenwich," "Rear Window" and "Like Mother, Like Son: The Strange Story of Sante and Kenny Kimes," on the Network.

Gregg Henry starred in the feature films "Ballistic: Ecks v. Severs," "Femme Fatale," "Payback," "Star Trek: Insurrection," as well as the upcoming thriller "The Black Dahlia," among others. He has also guest starred in over 50 television series including "Gilmore Girls," "24," and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Family Law," "Judging Amy" and "The Handler," all on the Network.

Michael Michele is best known to television audiences for her work in the series "ER," "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "Kevin Hill." She has also appeared in the feature films "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," "Ali," "Dark Blue," "The Sixth Man" and "New Jack City." Michele is a two-time nominee for the NAACP Image Awards and is two-time nominee of the Screen Actors Guild.

THE HUNT FOR THE BTK KILLER is being produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner Films, in association with Sony Pictures Television. Robert M. Sertner and Frank von Zerneck ("Scott Turow's Reversible Errors," "The Elizabeth Smart Story"), Diana Kerew ("Hitler: The Rise of Evil") and Judith Verno ("The Perfect Husband: The Laci Petersen Story") are the executive producers. Richard Fischoff ("While I Was Gone") and Randy Sutter ("Scott Turow's Reversible Errors") are the producers. Stephen Kay ("The Dead Will Tell") is directing from a script by Tom Towler ("JAG") and Donald Martin ("Amber Frey: Witness for the Prosecution").
