BURBANK, Calif. � November 6, 2007 � Paced by "NBC Sunday Night Football," which powered NBC to a Sunday night win in adults 18-49 and other key demos, NBC averaged a 3.0 rating, 8 share in 18-49 and 8.0 million viewers overall for the week of October 29-November 4, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

The "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Dallas Cowboys at the Philadelphia Eagles closed NBC's week of October 29-November 4 with a Sunday win in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult male demographics. Excluding CBS's Sunday NFL overrun coverage, "NBC Sunday Night Football" was the #1 telecast of the week among men 18-49.

Season-to-date through six weeks, "NBC Sunday Night Football" is television's #1 program among men 18-49. In primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, "NBC Sunday Night Football" (6.2/15) ranks #5 among all programs season-to-date, while "Heroes" (6.1/14) ranks #6 and "The Office" (5.4/12) ranks #7 (tied), out of more than 100 programs on the major broadcast networks.

Season-to-date, "The Office" is the #1 comedy on television among adults 18-49 and "Heroes" is the #1 Monday night show in that key demo.

Primetime averages for the week of October 29-November 4 in adults 18-49 were ABC (3.6/10), CBS (3.5/10), NBC (3.0/8), Fox (2.7/7), Univision (1.6/4), CW (1.0/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (12.3 million), ABC (11.3 million), NBC (8.0 million), Fox (7.0 million), Univision (3.7 million), CW (2.6 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

NBC highlights for the week of October 29-November 4:

* On Sunday, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Dallas Cowboys at the Philadelphia Eagles powered NBC to a nightlong win in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and all key adult male demographics. In adults 18-49, NBC on Sunday topped its nearest competitor, CBS, by 18 percent, while outperforming ABC by 26 percent and Fox by 40 percent.

* On Monday, "Heroes" built on its lead-in by 75 percent in 18-49 to rank #2 for the hour, while dominating the slot in adults 18-34 and in all key adult-male demographics � men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

* On Tuesday, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" finished one-tenth of a rating point out of first place in 18-49 and was #1 among adults, men and women 18-34 versus first-run episodes of ABC's "Boston Legal" and CBS's "Cane." In adults 18-34, the "SVU" rebroadcast topped the original "Boston Legal" by 35 percent and the first-run "Cane" by 92 percent.

* On Wednesday, a night of Halloween distractions, a special two-hour "Phenomenon" built by 30 percent in adults 18-49 from its first hour to its second.

* On Thursday, "The Office" ranked #1 in men 18-49 and men 18-34 in this tough time period that included competition from first-run episodes of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS's "CSI."

* "The Office" continues to deliver robust ratings in its new time period. Through the first six weeks of the season, "The Office" is up 61 percent in 18-49 rating versus NBC's performance in this slot through this point last season.

* Also on Thursday, "Scrubs" was up 23 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's average in its time period last season, and ranked #1 in its tough slot among men 18-34.

* Additionally on Thursday, "ER" finished within a tenth of a rating point of the time-period lead in adults 18-49, and won the hour in adults, men and women 18-34, despite significant lead-in advantages for the ABC and CBS drama competition. "ER" increased in 18-49 rating from half-hour to half-hour, while both ABC's "Big Shots" and CBS's "Without a Trace" declined, lifting "ER" to #1 in 18-49 in its second half-hour.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of October 29-November 4:

On Monday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. ET, "Chuck" (2.8 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in its competitive hour among men 18-49 and men 18-34. "Chuck" grew from half-hour to half-hour, gaining 11 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.0/8 from a 2.7/7). "Chuck" has generated half-hour-to-half-hour increases with every one of its six Monday original telecasts to date.

At 9 p.m. ET, "Heroes" (4.9/11 in 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in from the previous hour by 75 percent in 18-49 rating to finish #2 in its highly competitive time period in that demo. "Heroes" was a dominant #1 in adults 18-34 and in all key adult-male demographics � men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54.

From half-hour to half-hour, "Heroes" increased by 9 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 5.1 from a 4.7) while all competing broadcast networks exhibited declines. "Heroes" ranked #1 in adults 18-49 in the 9:30-10 p.m. half-hour.

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "Journeyman" averaged a 2.2/6 in 18-49 and 5.7 million viewers overall.

On Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, "The Singing Bee" averaged a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall. From 8:30-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser" (2.8/7 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) was up 22 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's results in this time period on the same night last year (2.8 vs. 2.3). From its first half-hour to its third, "Loser" gained 35 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.1/7 from a 2.3/6).

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.9/8 in 18-49, 8.6 million viewers overall) finished one-tenth of an 18-49 rating point out of first place in the hour, and ranked #1 among adults, men and women 18-34 versus first-run episodes of ABC's "Boston Legal" and CBS's "Cane." Among adults 18-34, the "SVU" rebroadcast topped the original "Boston Legal" by 35 percent (2.3 vs. 1.7) and the first-run "Cane" by 92 percent (2.3 vs. 1.2).

On Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 8-10 p.m. ET, a special two-hour edition of "Phenomenon" averaged a 2.3/7 in 18-49 and 6.2 million viewers overall. On a night of Halloween distractions, "Phenomenon" increased by 30 percent in 18-49 rating from its first hour to its second (to a 2.6/7 from a 2.0/6). From 10-11 p.m. ET, "Life" averaged a 1.9/5 in 18-49 and 5.7 million viewers overall.

On Thursday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. ET, a one-hour "My Name is Earl" (3.2/9 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) grew by 13 percent in 18-49 rating from its first to its second half-hour (to a 3.4 from a 3.0). "Earl" ranked #1 in the time period among men 18-34.

Thursday from 9-9:31 p.m. ET, "The Office" (4.5/11 in 18-49, 8.4 million viewers overall) was up 36 percent in adults 18-49 versus NBC's average in this highly competitive time period last season (4.5 vs. 3.3). "The Office" ranked #1 among men 18-49 and men 18-34, topping formidable competition that included first-run episodes of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and CBS's "CSI." In adults 18-49, "The Office" built on its "Earl" lead-in from the previous hour by 41 percent.

Season to date, "The Office" has lifted NBC by 61 percent in 18-49 rating in this time period versus the network's average at this point last season (5.3 vs. 3.3).

Thursday from 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, "Scrubs" (3.7/9 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) topped NBC's average in this time period last season by 23 percent in 18-49 (3.7 vs. 3.0). "Scrubs" won its slot among men 18-34.

Thursday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "ER" (3.8/10 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall) finished within a tenth of a rating point of the time period lead in adults 18-49 despite significant lead-in advantages for the ABC and CBS drama competition. "ER" topped both ABC's "Big Shots" and CBS's "Without a Trace" in adults, men and women 18-34.

"ER" increased its 18-49 rating from half-hour to half-hour (to a 3.9 from a 3.7), while both ABC's "Big Shots" and CBS's "Without a Trace" declined, lifting "ER" to #1 from 10:30-11 p.m. in adults 18-49.

On Friday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (2.0/7 in 18-49, 9.4 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in 18-49 and #1 in total viewers. At 9 p.m., "Friday Night Lights" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among men 18-34.

At 10 p.m. ET Friday, "Las Vegas" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 7.5 million viewers overall) ranked #1 among adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49 (tied). In 18-49, "Las Vegas" built on its lead-in by 11 percent.

On Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Bionic Woman" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., a "Chuck" rebroadcast averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., an encore telecast of "Law & Order: SVU" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) built on its 18-49 lead-in by 30 percent to deliver NBC's top demo rating in the slot in three weeks and biggest overall viewership in four weeks.

On Sunday, Nov. 4, "NBC Sunday Night Football," featuring the Dallas Cowboys at the Philadelphia Eagles, averaged a 6.7/16 in adults 18-49, 16.5 million viewers overall and a 10.2/16 household rating and share from 8:24-11 p.m. ET.

For the night (from 7:30-11 p.m.), NBC averaged a 5.9/15 in adults 18-49 and 14.5 million viewers overall to win Sunday in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and all key adult male demographics. In adults 18-49, NBC topped its nearest competitor, CBS by 18 percent (5.9 vs. 5.0). NBC outperformed ABC on Sunday night by 26 percent (5.9 vs. 4.7) and Fox by 40 percent (5.9 vs. 4.2).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:55 p.m. ET averaged a 2.9/8 in 18-49, 6.7 million viewers overall and a 4.1 rating, 7 share in households. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:55-8:15 p.m. delivered a 4.0/10 in 18-49, 9.7 million viewers overall and a 5.9/10 in households. From 8:15-8:24 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 5.0/13 in 18-49, 12.3 million viewers overall and a 7.5/12 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
