Special Was First Of Six Hosted By Drew Carey In Which Each Contestant Has Two Chances To Win One Million Dollars; Second Special to Be Broadcast Friday, Feb. 29

Adam Rose, of Los Osos, Calif., made game show history on THE PRICE IS RIGHT MILLION DOLLAR SPECTACULAR, hosted by Drew Carey, during the broadcast on Friday, Feb. 22. Rose won a total of $1,153,908 in cash and prizes, becoming the long-running game show's first million dollar winner, ever.

During the primetime specials, one classic "Price is Right" game is revealed as the "Million Dollar Game" during which a contestant will have the chance to win one million dollars while playing that game. In addition, during the Showcase at the end of each show, if one contestant guesses the cost of the Showcase within $1,000 without going over, that contestant will win one million dollars, in addition to both Showcases. Rose guessed the cost of the Showcase within $880.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT, the longest-running game show in television history, is hosted by Drew Carey. In 2007, it won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show. Produced by FremantleMedia North America, THE PRICE IS RIGHT is broadcast weekdays (11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, ET; 10:00-11:00 AM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.
