LIFETIME TELEVISION'S "YOUR MAMA DON'T DANCE" KICKS UP RATINGS HEELS IN SERIES PREMIERE WITH DOUBLE-DIGIT GROWTH IN W18-34, W18-49 AND W25-54 POWERED BY 1.6 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS

-- Video Streams at myLifetime.com Surge 22 Percent --

New York -- Lifetime Television's new emotionally charged reality series "Your Mama Don't Dance" kicked up its ratings heels during its premiere on Friday, February 29, at 9PM (ET/PT), strutting to double-digit growth among the network's key demos of W18-34 (+41 percent), W18-49 (+15 percent) and W25-54 (+30 percent), powered by an overall viewership of 1.6 million P2+ (+21 percent), all compared to the March 2007 time period.

Hosted by Ian Ziering ("Dancing with the Stars"), with choreographer/actor Cris Judd ("Unfabulous"), Tony Award-winning actor/dancer Ben Vereen ("Pippin") and singer/actress Vitamin C ("The Amanda Show") serving as judges, Lifetime's first-ever dance competition show "cha-chaed" to a 1.15 household rating.

Online, video streams at myLifetime.com jumped 22 percent, Friday through Sunday, fueled by the strength of views of "Your Mama Don't Dance" video extras.

"Your Mama Don't Dance" takes the typical "dance show" to a whole new level by exploring the sometimes love-hate and always complicated relationship between kids and their parents. Some of America's hottest dancers auditioned for a chance to be a part of a new dance competition show under the pseudonym "Dance Nation," but none had any idea what was in store. On January 26, 2008, contestants gathered at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles where they soon discovered shocking news that they would be competing with a partner and that their partner would be one of their parents.

In the premiere episode, five female dancers competed with their fathers. After the competition, the two father/daughter teams with the lowest scores, now in the "Drop Zone," are: Celia and Silvano Merendi of Miami, Florida, and Heather and Stephen Phillips of Hockessin, Delaware. Fans began voting after the show and have until Wednesday, March 5, at midnight to save their favorite duo from the "DropZone" so they can return to the competition. In the second episode, airing this Friday, March 7, at 9PM (ET/PT), five male dancers will compete for the first time with their mothers.

"Your Mama Don't Dance" is produced by City Lights Television in association with Bob Bain Productions for Lifetime Television. Bob Bain ("Billboard Music Awards," "Miss America," "Kid's Choice Awards"), Dave Noll and Linda Lea ("Queer Eye for the Straight Guy") serve as executive producers. Stephanie Chambers ("Bam's Unholy Union") is co-executive producer and Nate Green ("Dance Life") is supervising producer.
