TLC goes on the market with DATE MY HOUSE

Series premieres April 5, 2008 at 8:30 PM

March 10, 2008 Los Angeles, CA In an increasingly difficult real estate market, eager sellers need to get creative to move their property and are turning to new and unexpected ways to interest and capture potential buyers. These buyers are also approaching the possible purchase as seriously they would approach finding the right spouse seeing as many prospects as possible and doing whatever it takes to determine if the pairing is indeed a perfect match. To move the courtship along, TLC will play matchmaker in the new TLC series DATE MY HOUSE, hosted by Bob Guiney. The romance begins Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 8:30 PM, leading in to a new episode of TRADING SPACES.

Each week, Bob will work with a homeowner, desperate to sell and ready to do just about anything it takes to move their house off the market including opening the door to the "dating" scene. With the help of design expert Nadia Geller, the team preps the home for its best first impression, assessing what might turn potential buyers off and then using the latest dcor and staging techniques to give the house a face lift and attract the right buyers.

Things heat up when the house is ready to date. The typical open house is transformed in to a speed dating session that lets potential purchasers get acquainted with the house in a fun and relaxed setting. When a prospective buyer is selected, they are offered the chance to have a serious date with the house anything from a quiet overnight to big a dinner party that will give them the chance to see if this is really the their dream house. Each episode will culminate in learning if the date leads to a committed relationship or if it's a case of "I'm just not that in to you."

"Today, mortgages can last longer than marriages, so people need to be absolutely sure when making this huge commitment. This new trend in house 'dating' gives you a chance to really know if it is your perfect match," said Brant Pinvidic, SVP of Programming, TLC. "The real estate market today is so tough, and it's important that we give our viewers these surprising ideas that they can to make their house a hot property."
