The Return of a First-Run "CSI: Miami" Delivers its Largest Audience of the Season and Marches Its Best Adult 18-49 Rating

The return of a first-run CSI: MIAMI was the week's top scripted program, TWO AND A HALF MEN was the Number One comedy and the Network's coverage of the NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP scored on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending March 30, week 27 of the 2007-2008 television season.

For the week in viewers: CBS (9.47m), FOX (9.93m), ABC (8.83m) and NBC (7.70m). Season-to-date, CBS is second in viewers (10.45m), behind FOX (11.44m) and ahead of ABC (9.25m) and NBC (8.48m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was second in both adults 25-54 (3.7/10) and adults 18-49 (3.1/09). Season-to-date, CBS is second in adults 25-54 (3.8/09) and averaging a 3.0/08 in adults 18-49 (tied with NBC and -0.1 behind ABC).

For the week in households: CBS (6.1/10), FOX (5.9/10,) ABC (5.7/09) and NBC (5.1/08). Season-to-date in households, CBS is tied for first (6.7/11, with FOX) and +12% ahead of ABC (6.0/10) and +24% ahead of NBC (5.4/09).

CBS's Weekly Highlights:

-- CBS saw the return of all first-run programming on Monday, placing first in adults 25-54 (5.6/13), adults 18-49 (4.4/11), tied for first in adults 18-34 (3.1/09, with ABC), second in households (7.8/12) and viewers (12.56m).

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in adults 18-34 (3.6/11), second in households (6.3/10), viewers (10.67m), adults 25-54 (5.4/13) and adults 18-49 (4.5/12). Compared to the program's first-run return last Monday, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was up +9% in households (from 5.8/09), +8% in adults 25-54 (from 5.0/12), +5% in adults 18-49 (from 4.3/11), +6% in adults 18-34 (from 3.4/10) and added +1.06m viewers (from 9.61m, +11%). HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER posted series highs in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49, season highs in households, viewers and adults 18-34. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER is the night's #1 program in adults 18-34.

TWO AND A HALF MEN was second in households (8.6/13), viewers (14.24m), adults 25-54 (6.6/15, -0.2 behind ABC) and adults 18-49 (5.2/13, -0.1 behind ABC). Compared to the program's first run return last week, TWO AND A HALF MEN was up +1% in households (from 8.5/13) and added +180,000 viewers (from 14.06m, +1%). TWO AND A HALF MEN is the night's #1 program in adults 18-49.

CSI: MIAMI was first in households (10.3/17), viewers (16.07m), adults 25-54 (6.3/15) and adults 18-49 (4.9/12). Compared to the program's live plus same day first-run average this season, CSI: MIAMI was up +4% in households (from 9.9/16), +13% in adults 25-54 (from 5.6/14), +9% in adults 18-49 (from 4.5/11) and added +1.06m viewers (from 14.99m, +7%). This was CSI: MIAMI's best delivery this season in both viewers and adults 25-54, matches the best adults 18-49 delivery.

BIG BROTHER 9 SUNDAY (8:25-9:24 PM) scored a 4.8/07 with 7.47m viewers, 3.2/07 in adults 25-54 and 2.6/06 in adults 18-49. From 8:30-9:30 PM, BIG BROTHER 9 SUNDAY was second in households, viewers and adults 25-54. Compared to last week, BIG BROTHER 9 SUNDAY was up +17% in households (from 4.1/07), +19% in adults 25-54 (from 2.7/06), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 2.2/06) and added +1.01m viewers (from 6.46m, +16%).

COLD CASE (9:24-10:25 PM) delivered a 6.3/10 with 9.80m viewers, 3.6/08 in adults 25-54 and 2.7/06 in adults 18-49. From 9:30-10:30 PM, COLD CASE was first in both households and viewers, second in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

DEXTER (10:25-11:23 PM) posted a 4.7/08 with 7.13m viewers, 2.8/07 in adults 25-54 and 2.0/05 in adults 18-49. DEXTER was up +31% in households (from 3.6/07), +40% in adults 25-54 (from 2.0/06), +33% in adults 18-49 (from 1.5/05) and added +1.86m viewers (from 5.27m, +35%) from last week.

NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP:

-- Thursday, CBS was first in men 25-54 (5.6/16), men 18-49 (5.4/16), adults 18-34 (3.7/12), men 18-34 (5.2/17) and second in households (6.5/11), viewers (10.02m), adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and adults 18-49 (3.9/11, -0.1 behind NBC). Compared to the second Thursday of the NCAA Basketball Championship Tournament last year (on March 22, 2008), CBS was up +2% in both adults 25-54 and men 25-54, +3% in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34, even in both men 18-49 and men 18-34 in the 8:00-11:00 PM time period.

CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP THURSDAY 1 (S) (7:00 PM-9:51 PM) posted a 5.9/11 in households with 9.02m viewers. CBS scored a 3.5/11 in adults 25-54, 4.7/15 in men 25-54, 3.2/11 in adults 18-49, 4.4/15 in men 18-49, 3.0/11 in adults 18-34 and 4.1/15 in men 18-34. CBS was first in men 25-54, adults 18-49, men 18-49, adults 18-34, men 18-34 and second in households, viewers and adults 25-54 from 8:00-10:00 PM. Compared to the same game last year (3/22/07, 7:00-9:50 PM), CBS was up +9% in both adults 25-54 and men 25-54, +3% in adults 18-49, +5% in men 18-49, even in both adults 18-34 and men 18-34.

CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPSHIP POST GUN 2 six minute broadcast delivered an 8.9/16 with 14.36m viewers, 5.2/15 in adults 25-54 and 4.8/15 in adults 18-49.
