FOX TROTS INTO SEASON FIVE OF SMASH SERIES "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE"

FOX has ordered a fifth season of the summer's hottest show, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe, the original dance competition follows amateur dancers as they compete in everything from Hip-Hop, Krumping and Popping to Salsa, Quickstep and Jive to be named America's favorite dancer.

FOX's President of Alternative Entertainment, Mike Darnell said, "We're delighted to have DANCE back for a fifth season next year. FOX is very lucky to have television's preeminent performance competitions in AMERICAN IDOL and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, and it's no coincidence that creator and executive producer Simon Fuller and executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe have been a part of both these successes."

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE's Wednesday and Thursday telecasts rank among the summer's Top 5 regular programs in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and rank No. 1 in their respective time periods among all key demos. The two-night, four-hour Season Four finale airs Wednesday, Aug. 6 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Aug. 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
