The First Major Film Awards Show Of The Season Will Air Live From The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium On VH1, Thursday, January 8 At 9PM (ET/PT)

NEW YORK, Dec. 4 -- Hosts of "At the Movies" Ben Lyons (E! Entertainment) and Ben Mankiewicz (Turner Classic Movies) will announce the nominees for the 14th annual Critics' Choice Awards(TM) on Tuesday, December 9 at 8:30 AM ET/PT. They will be joined by VH1 President Tom Calderone.

The Critics' Choice Awards(TM) nominations in ten film categories will be revealed that morning LIVE from the MTV Networks studio at VH1 Headquarters in Times Square, New York. The nominations announcement will be telecast LIVE on VH1 and the announcement will also be available on demand at http://criticschoice.vh1.com later that day.

A complete list of nominees in all 17 categories will be revealed at http://criticschoice.vh1.com once the nominees are announced. VH1's "Critics' Choice Awards" site, which launches December 9, will be home to detailed information about the awards and will provide a forum for both the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) critics and users to comment on this year's nominees.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association's (BFCA) "The 14th Annual Critics' Choice Awards" gala will air live from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on Thursday, January 8 at 9pm (ET/PT). The awards are bestowed annually by the BFCA to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. Since its inception in 1995, the "Critics' Choice Awards" has become a star-studded bellwether event of the movie awards season. The BFCA consistently picks nominees and winners that go on to garner more Academy Award nominations and wins than any other movie awards show.

Counting down to the LIVE premiere of the Critics' Choice Awards, VH1 will air the "14th Annual Critics' Choice Awards Red Carpet Premiere Featuring Maria Menounos" pre-show LIVE on Thursday, January 8 at 8pm (ET/PT) and will also stream it LIVE on VH1.com. Covering the excitement of the celebrity arrivals on the red carpet will be "KTLA Morning News" entertainment reporter Sam Rubin and No Good TV's Carrie Keagan. Interspersed throughout the red carpet arrivals, will be pre-taped interviews with NBC and Access Hollywood'sMaria Menounos as she sits down and speaks with some of today's hottest stars.
