WHO WILL WIN IN CHEFS VS. CITY?

Acclaimed Chefs Chris Cosentino and Aarn Sanchez Star in New Food Network Series

Debuts Friday, August 7th at 10pm ET/PT

NEW YORK July 8th, 2008 Food Network takes viewers on a cross-country culinary race in the new primetime series Chefs vs. City. Featuring acclaimed chefs Chris Cosentino and Aarn Sanchez, the show premieres on Friday, August 7th at 10pm ET/PT, and tests their food knowledge and competitive spirits.

"Chefs vs. City really pushes both teams to use all of their culinary knowledge in order to win the competition," said Bob Tuschman, Senior Vice President, Programming and Production, Food Network. "Chris and Aarn are fiercely competitive and are the perfect choices to represent Food Network in these types of challenges."

Each week, Chris and Aarn will travel to a different city, where they will be pitted against two local foodies in a winner-takes-all race. Using every tool at their disposal, the teams compete in an adrenaline-charged, food-lovers tour of each city, completing difficult epicurean challenges along the way. This season, Chris and Aarn will pass through New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston and New Orleans. Each episode will feature five different challenges, which could include everything from wine stomping to eating the spiciest dishes in the country to crab fishing in a gator-infested river. Once the teams have completed their challenges, it's a sprint to the finish line to see if the locals can protect their home turf or if the Food Network chefs can conquer a new city.

ABOUT CHRIS COSENTINO:

Thanks to his affinity for great ingredients, Chris Cosentino has emerged as a thoughtful voice for sustainable principles and as a leading proponent of offal cookery. After graduating from Johnson & Wales, Chris went on to build his culinary resume by working at several notable restaurants across the country before joining Incanto as executive chef in 2002. His innovative interpretations of rustic Italian fare promptly earned the restaurant its first 3-star review from the San Francisco Chronicle. In addition to Chefs vs. City, other recent Food Network appearances include The Next Iron Chef, Iron Chef America and The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Chris resides in San Francisco and serves as the executive chef of Incanto and co-creator of Boccalone, an artisanal salumeria.

ABOUT AARN SANCHEZ:

As a restaurateur, television personality, consultant, spokesperson and author, Aarn Sanchez is known as one of the country's leading contemporary Latin Chefs. He began his career with Food Network as co-host of Melting Pot, where he introduced a national audience to his interpretations of classic Latino cuisine. In 2005, Aarn was named one of People Magazine's and People En Espanol's 50 Most Beautiful People and was nominated as the "Rising Star Chef of the Year" by the James Beard Foundation. In addition to Chefs vs. City, other recent Food Network appearances include The Next Iron Chef, Iron Chef America, Chopped and The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Aarn resides in New York City where he owns and works as the executive chef of restaurants Paladar and Centrico.
