THE MUSIC OF SANTANA WILL BE FEATURED EXCLUSIVELY THROUGHOUT THE NOV. 8 EPISODE OF "COLD CASE," ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 - The music of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Santana will be featured exclusively on the Sunday, Nov. 8 episode of COLD CASE (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

In the episode titled "Dead Heat," the team investigates after the body of an accomplished 45-year-old jockey who "disappeared" in 1986 is found in a mass horses' grave. Jacob Vargas ("Traffic," "Bobby") guest stars as the slain jockey's apprentice.

Some of the songs included in the episode are "Oye Como Va," "Everything's Coming Our Way" and "Evil Ways," among others. Guitarist Carlos Santana is one of rock's true legends. Since 1966, he has led the group that bears his surname, selling more than 75 million albums and performing in front of more than 100 million people. Carlos says that music should "create a bridge so people can have more trust and hope in humanity."

"We're delighted to feature the music of Santana throughout this episode, which offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the high-stakes world of thoroughbred horseracing as the team investigates the mid-'80s murder of a successful Mexican-born jockey," said series executive producer Jennifer Johnson. "Santana's music has that hypnotic blend of the ethereal and explosive that captures the excitement and beauty of the sport of kings -- and still reflects the internal conflict of an athlete coming to terms with the sport's unforgiving nature and decadence," added series executive producer Greg Plageman.

Past single-artist episodes of COLD CASE featured the music of Ray Charles, John Lennon, Frank Sinatra, Nirvana, Johnny Cash, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Tim McGraw, U2 and Bob Dylan. The music of Pearl Jam rocked throughout the two-part seventh season finale of the series.

COLD CASE stars Kathryn Morris, Danny Pino, John Finn, Jeremy Ratchford, Thom Barry and Tracie Thoms. It is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Meredith Stiehm, Jennifer Johnson and Greg Plageman are the executive producers.
