LIFE COACH FRAN HARRIS HELPS FAMILIES GET BACK ON TRACK IN HGTV'S 'HOME RULES'

Knoxville, TENN. [For Immediate Release--February 25, 2010] In HGTV's new series Home Rules, premiering Monday, March 15, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, life coach and former WNBA player Fran Harris, helps frazzled families find harmony at home. After assessing each family's home life, Fran helps them establish rules of engagement that ease the pandemonium, while an interior designer creates a well-designed space that enhances their lives. One month later, Fran will return with HGTV cameras to find out how things have changed for the family in their new space.

"For more than 15 years, Fran Harris has helped families struggling with hardships, including financial distress and deteriorating relationships, get their lives back on track," said Freddy James, senior vice president, program development & production, HGTV. "Now families at home will be inspired by Fran's insightful counsel and be able to apply her expert advice to their lives."

In the premiere episode, Fran visits Bob and Denise Violette, a couple who are overwhelmed by unfinished home projects, financial troubles and a 16-year-old daughter whom they describe as "a handful." After doing some detective work, Fran discovers that the family is over-spending on unnecessary items, while neglecting personal savings and on-time mortgage payments. Fran arms the family with personalized "home rules," such as stressing needs versus wants, so they can accomplish their long-term goals. Finally, Fran sends in a design team to complete a revitalizing home makeover that inspires the family to stay organized and united.

In future episodes, Fran will assist a couple, who is considering divorce, reconnect with each other; new homeowners struggling with unexpected household expenses; and a family who needs to figure out how to live under the same roof with their in-laws.
