LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX is sticking by its struggling series "Standoff" and "'Til Death."
The network has extended the former by six installments while the latter has earned a full season of 22 episodes.
The news comes in spite of mixed results for both series - "'Til Death" has posted a series-low 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 in each of its past two airings while "Standoff" has seen more than half of its audience disappear since its premiere.
Nevertheless, FOX hopes the return of "24" and "American Idol" (as well as its inaugural BCS coverage) will boost interest in both series come January.
Meanwhile, CBS is expected to follow suit with "The Class," ordering at least four additional episodes of the series. The exact number however is still being hammered out. The Eye asked for a quartet of additional scripts last month (read the story).
The show's most-recent installment drew a 3.0 rating among adults 18-49, its best audience in the key demographic since October 16 (3.1 rating).
