LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Sci Fi will say goodbye to veteran "Battlestar Galactica" and hello to newcomer "WCG Ultimate Gamer" in March, network sources confirmed to the site today.
In addition, "Ghost Hunters" will kick off its fifth season while "Stargate: The Ark of Truth" will make its broadcast premiere.
Here's a breakdown of the aforementioned plans:
-- "Battlestar Galactica" will wrap its four-season run on Friday, March 20 at 9:00/8:00c with a two-hour finale. As a build up to said event, look for the "Battlestar Galactica Finale Special" (working title) on Monday, March 16 at 10:00/9:00c. The one-hour special and the March 13 installment of the series will also replay on March 20 starting at 7:00/6:00c, leading into the two-hour finale.
-- "WCG Ultimate Gamer," formerly known as "GameQuest," will launch on Tuesday, March 10 at 11:00/10:00c. The eight-week series, hosted by Hannah Simone and Joel Gourdin, "features a diverse group of contestants who embark on an intense and emotional journey, all hoping to win prizes that include $100,000 cash and the ultimate Samsung electronics package complete with the company's most advanced technology products."
-- As for "Ghost Hunters," the network mainstay will open its fifth season on Wednesday, March 11 at 9:00/8:00c.
-- Meanwhile, keep an eye out for "Stargate: The Ark of Truth" on Friday, March 27 at 9:00/8:00c following a rebroadcast of the "Galactica" finale at 7:00/6:00c.
-- And finally, "RelicQuest," originally set for a January 21 launch, has been delayed until later this year.
