The Futon's Upfront Notes: Cbs
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- A round-up of the various developments from upfront week that may have gotten lost in the shuffle:

-- CBS will have the most returning shows of any network (21), not to mention the least canceled (seven). Not making the 2009-10 season cut: "Eleventh Hour," "The Ex List," "Game Show in My Head," "Harper's Island," "The Unit," "Without a Trace" and "Worst Week."

-- The aforementioned 21 shows include "Flashpoint," which has been renewed for a third season. CTV, the show's Canadian broadcaster, revealed last week that the series was the second most-watched local production during the 2008-09 season. The most-watched: the Canadian incarnation of "So You Think You Can Dance."

-- The role of "Christopher Deleo" is being recast on the midseason drama "Miami Trauma." British actor Richard Coyle played said character - "a playboy who thrives on the high-stakes of trauma medicine and is, by his own description, a genius redneck" - in the pilot. No reason for the change was given.

-- Staffing was underway on "House Rules" and "U.S. Attorney" going into upfront week. It's not clear if either drama is still under consideration for a midseason order.

-- Dee Johnson ("Army Wives") has joined "The Good Wife" as an executive producer. She'll serve alongside co-creators Michelle and Robert King as well as fellow executive producers David W. Zucker, Ridley Scott and Tony Scott of Scott Free Productions.
