ABC'S "SHARK" TO GET A JUMP ON THE FALL
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC plans to throw viewers into the "Shark Tank" a little early.

The reality series, in which entrepreneurs "try to convince five tough, multi-millionaire tycoons to part with their own hard-earned cash and give them the funding they need to jumpstart their ideas," will debut on Sunday, August 9 at 9:00/8:00c following the return of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."

Episodes will continue on Sundays at 9:00/8:00c through August 23, after which it will shift to its regular time period of Tuesdays at 8:00/7:00c starting August 25.

Casting calls for the series kicked off on Saturday in Los Angeles with additional calls set for Orlando (June 11), New York City (June 13) and Chicago (also June 13). Interested parties can visit ABC's casting page for more information.

Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill and Phil Gurin are the executive producers of "Shark Tank," which comes from Sony Pictures Television.
