THE DARK TOWER (NBC) - Mark Verheiden ("Falling Skies") has joined the proposed small screen take on the upcoming film franchise of the same name. He'll serve as an executive producer alongside Akiva Goldsman, who's spearheading said incarnation. Weed Road Pictures, Imagine Television and Universal Media Studios are behind the project, which will serve as a bridge between the first and second movie in the trilogy. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer likewise are executive producing, the latter of which is attached to direct.
RULES OF ENGAGEMENT (CBS) - Executive producer Mike Sikowitz has inked a two-year, seven-figure overall deal with producer Sony Pictures Television. The pact, set to begin in June, will cover his duties on the veteran comedy as well as any future development. The Eye has yet to renew the series for a sixth season.
WIPEOUT (ABC) - Co-host Jill Wagner is reportedly departing the series after four seasons to focus on her acting career. Casting is already underway for a replacement. Wagner's installments will continue to air through this summer.
