GAME OF THRONES (HBO) - Natalie Dormer ("The Tudors") has joined the cast of the show's upcoming second season. She'll play Margaery Tyrell, "a beautiful and shrewd young woman from the influential House Tyrell [who's] pledged to marry the late King Robert's brother, Renly Baratheon, as part of House Tyrell's support for his bid to seize the Iron Throne from King Joffrey."
A GIFTED MAN (CBS) - Pablo Schreiber ("Lights Out") has been upped to series regular on the upcoming drama. He'll continue on as Anton, "a shaman and New Age spiritual healer to Michael Holt (Patrick Wilson)," a role which he guest starred in the pilot.
THE GOOD WIFE (CBS) - Lisa Edelstein has booked her first post-"House" role on the CBS drama. She'll play "a lawyer and born poker player whose sexiness is enhanced by her obvious intelligence" in what's billed as a multi-episode arc. No other details however were confirmed.
LIFE AT THE MARMONT (HBO, New!) - Actor John Krasinski ("The Office") and Oscar-winner Aaron Sorkin ("The Social Network") are developing a potential eight-hour mini-series at the pay channel about Hollywood mainstay The Chateau Marmont. Sorkin is attached to pen the project, which will be based on Raymond R. Sarlot and Fred Basten's book "Life at The Marmont" and will "tell the interconnected stories of the people who frequented the famed Hollywood landmark over several generations." He'll likewise executive produce alongside Sunday Night Productions' Krasinski, who's expected to star, and Marmont's current owner Andre Balazs and his daughter Alessandra.
OUTLAW COUNTRY (FX) - Veteran character actor Stephen Root has joined the cast of the pilot, a drama set against the backdrop of Southern organized crime and Nashville royalty. He'll play Jack Folcum, a shrewd businessman gangster associate and rival of John Hawkes's character. Luke Grimes, Haley Bennett and Mary Steenburgen co-star in the project, which is undergoing some retooling under incoming director Adam Arkin.
THE TRANSPORTER (Cinemax) - Francois Berleand, Delphine Chaneac and Rachel Skarsten have all joined the cast of the upcoming drama, a small screen take on the Jason Statham film franchise of the same name with Chris Vance taking over the role of Frank Martin. In addition, Stephen Williams ("Lost") has been tapped to helm the premiere installment. Berleand will return as Inspector Tarconi from the films while Chaneac will recur as Olivia, a reporter who knows a lot about Frank's work, and Skarsten as Delia, the daughter of someone from Frank's past. Andrea Osvart co-stars as a former CIA operative and Frank's handler.
VINYL (Showtime, New!) - Jason Smilovic and Todd Katzberg have booked a potential drama at the pay channel which explores "every aspect of the music business through multiple vantage points - from the record executives and rock stars to the drug pushers and the prostitutes, from the stage to the boardroom to the DJ booth" - in 1970s Los Angeles. Barry Levinson is on board to direct the hour, with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas executive producing alongside Smilovic and Barry Grieff, Andy Meyer and Katzberg co-executive producing.
WEEDS (Showtime) - Andy Milder is set to reprise his role of Dean Hodes on the show's seventh season. No details about his character's return however were given. Meanwhile, Pablo Schreiber has booked a five-episode arc on the series however no other specifics were given.
