BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE (NBC) - Frances Conroy ("American Horror Story") is the latest addition to the drama pilot, "set in the near future in a society where humans co-exist with mechanical androids that look like people but are treated like second-class citizens." She'll play "the very wealthy Lydia (Conroy) whose late husband founded the firm that makes Mechanicals." James Murray and Patrick Heusinger also star in the project, which Stephen Hopkins is directing from a script by Michael McDonald. ABC Studios and Universal Television are co-producing. (Deadline.com)
THE CLIENT LIST (Lifetime) - Elisabeth Rohm is set to recur on the upcoming drama, which stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as Riley, "a Texas housewife who, after being deserted by her husband, ends up running a massage parlor which serves as a front for a call girl service." She's on board as Riley's nemesis, Taylor, a rich and judgmental Texas socialite. (Deadline.com)
ISABEL (NBC) - Abigail Mavity ("Zeke & Luther") and Skyler Gisondo ("Psych") have both been cast in the comedy pilot, about "an otherwise normal, angry middle-class family that wrestles with the challenges of everyday life while raising daughter Isabel (Sophia Mitri Schloss) who has magical qualities." She'll play Isabel's older sister Karen, a self-involved teenager, while Gisondo will play her brother Eric. Todd Holland is directing the Universal Television-based project from a script by co-creators Howard Busgang and Tom Nursall. (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - NBC is in negotiations to acquire CTV's upcoming medical drama "Saving Hope" (Deadline.com); The CW likewise is on track to carry Canadian soap "The L.A. Complex" (Deadline.com); Eric Johnson is bound for "Alcatraz" as "a smooth-talking bank robber with an interest in safety deposit boxes" while Michael Eklund will likewise turn up as "a kidnapper who returns his victims to their homes after killing them" (TVGuide.com); Erica Gimpel has been tapped as Carla, the woman who took the title character off the streets, in a two-episode arc on "Nikita" (EOnline.com); and Nikki DeLoach is set to recur in flashback on "Ringer" as the oft-mentioned stripper whose murder Bridget (Sarah Michelle Gellar) witnessed (TVGuide.com).
