By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from various wire reports each morning:

THE BREAK (FOX) - "Boomtown" scribes/producers Chris Brancato and Albert Salke have come on board to produce the FOX pilot as part of a seven-figure, three-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV. The duo, who are also behind the ABC western pilot "Then Came Jones," will also create their own series for the company as well as develop shows with other writers under the Brancato/Salke Prods. banner.

CHASING ALICE (WB) - The rest of the cast is set for the Frog drama which is inspired by the "Alice in Wonderland" mythology. Joining the previously cast Sophia Winkleman and Theresa Russell are Shemar Moore ("Birds of Prey") as Lionel, Ivana Milicevic ("Mind of the Married Man") as Dinah, Greg Serano ("The Postman") as Adam, Al Sapienza ("Lethal Weapon 4") as Blanc and Zack Ward ("Titus") as Eclipse.

HOMELAND SECURITY (NBC) - Kal Penn ("National Lampoon's Van Wilder") has joined the cast of the two-hour pilot as Harrison.

Big Ticket Television is behind the project, which reportedly has been in development for more than two years. Tom Palmer ("Murphy Brown," "Living in Captivity") will write and executive produce the pilot.

UNTITLED KEVIN HART PROJECT (ABC) - Faizon Love ("Wonderland") has joined the cast of the untitled comedy pilot.

UNTITLED TOM HERTZ PROJECT (ABC) - Josh Braaten ("Dumb and Dumberer") has been added to the cast of the untitled project from 20th Century Fox TV and Brad Grey TV.
