[04/28/03 - 12:00 AM] Networks Continue Last Minute Sweeps Changes By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC) |
|
|
CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- It just wouldn't be sweeps if there weren't a few last minute schedule changes. Here's a rundown of the latest moves:
-- FOX will air "Beverly Hills, 90210: 10-Year High School Reunion" on Sunday, May 11 at 9:00/8:00c. The one-hour special will feature interviews with cast members Jason Priestley ("Brandon Walsh"), Luke Perry ("Dylan McKay"), Jennie Garth ("Kelly Taylor"), Shannen Doherty ("Brenda Walsh"), and Gabrielle Carteris ("Andrea Zuckerman"), whose characters graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1993. Also featured are interviews with James Eckhouse ("Jim Walsh") and Carol Potter ("Cindy Walsh"), who portrayed Brandon and Brenda's parents on the series. To make room for the special, FOX will push its "Baby, Part 1" episode of "Malcolm in the Middle" to 8:30/7:30c and pre-empt "Oliver Beene" entirely.
-- FOX has also finalized its Thursday schedule for the period beginning with "Caught Red-Handed: The 15 Greatest Cops Takedowns" this Thursday at 8:00/7:00c. The two-hour special includes the top 15 most exciting, dangerous and humorous "caught in the act" segments from the history of the franchise. The following week (May 8), "The First Annual Miss Dog Beauty Pageant" will fill the opening hour followed by a fresh installment of "The Pulse." And finally on the last Thursday of sweeps (May 15), a repeat of its highly-rated "Married... With Children Reunion Special" will air at 8:00/7:00c followed by another new episode of "The Pulse."
-- The WB has also filled in some of the gaps in its May sweeps schedule. The network premiere of "Pitch Black" will take over the Frog's Thursday schedule on May 8 while fellow theatrical "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate" gets the Thursday slot on May 15. Meanwhile, on Friday, May 16 the WB will follow up its "The Celebrity Look-alike Dating Show" special with an encore of "The WB's Most Outrageous Outtakes."
