[11/25/03 - 12:00 AM] MTV Serves Up Second Helping of 'Sunday Stew' By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC) |
CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- MTV is adding a second helping of its "Sunday Stew" as the cable channel has picked up second seasons of 10 episodes each of both "Viva La Bam" and "Wildboyz." The duo will re-team with "Punk'd" in March, which had previously been renewed for a third season of 10 episodes (read the story). The fate of "One Bad Trip," the fourth "Stew" series, however remains up in the air.
All four series helped MTV reach record highs in persons 12-34, the network's target demographic, during the month of October as the quartet finished second only to ESPN's "Sunday Night Football" among cable series on the night. The group is also up an astonishing 155% in year-to-year comparisons in that same demographic. Spearheading the entire lineup has been "Punk'd" whose second season premiere scored 3.56 million total viewers, its largest audience to date (read the story).
