LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Just one day after pulling the plug on "The Division," Lifetime has ordered a sixth season of its Sunday drama "Strong Medicine."
The 22-episode renewal brings the series' total run to at least 132 episodes, making it network's long running original drama series to date and second longest in basic cable history.
"Medicine" has been a solid player for Lifetime, averaging 2.3 million viewers through seven airings this season. The cable channel also holds the exclusive repeat rights to the series through 2010.
Whoopi Goldberg and Tammy Ader are the executive producers of the series, which comes from Sony Pictures Television.
