'JAG' STAR PUTS THE 'ACT' IN ACTION David James Elliott's role as a Navy pilot-turned-lawyer with the Judge Advocate General Corps, is demanding in more ways than one. The storylines of "JAG," which reports for duty on Hallmark Channel beginning Monday, October 4 (8/7c), vary from taut courtroom drama to action-adventure to romantic-comedy fantasy, challenging Elliott to call upon a wide range of acting skills. As "JAG" enters its 10th season, Elliott remains passionate about the show's meaty courtroom scenes - his favorites. Fans, on the other hand, love the scenes with state-of-the-art military hardware. "Chasing bad guys - that's exhausting work," he says. "And the jet stuff - that's hard, too. It's just a nightmare to shoot. It looks great when it's done.
