The nominees for THE 31ST ANNUAL PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS were announced by Listen Up stars Jason Alexander and Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Desperate Housewives stars Eva Longoria and Nicollette Sheridan at a press conference at the Hollywood & Highland shopping and entertainment center. The winners will be revealed Sunday, Jan. 9 (9:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This year's show has been revamped to include significant changes that reflect today's entertainment preferences. Also, for the first time, a dedicated web site has been created for fans to vote for their choices in all categories. Votes can be placed at www.pcavote.com starting today. Winners will be announced on the Jan. 9 broadcast.

Partnering with the culture-savvy editors at Entertainment Weekly, the new production team compiled a list of categories and potential nominees which reflect what is current and what people are listening to and watching. As part of the change, thousands more fans had the opportunity to participate in the nomination process through Entertainment Weekly's Front Row Panel of over 6,000 entertainment enthusiasts recruited by the magazine from across the country. Panelists voted from the list of categories and potential nominees provided, and will also be able to write-in their own nomination choices. The top five selections in each category became the official nominees.
