Harry and Dave's Excellent (And 'Amazing') Adventure

[via press release from CBS]

HARRY AND DAVES EXCELLENT (AND AMAZING) ADVENTURE

The Early Show Goes Behind the Scenes of CBS Hit Reality Show, The Amazing Race, Following Harry Smith and Dave Price as They Run the First Leg from Chicago to Iceland

CBS News THE EARLY SHOW follows anchor Harry Smith and weatherman Dave Price on their amazing adventure as they take the spirit of morning competition to new heights by joining in the race around the world in the sixth edition of CBS popular reality series, THE AMAZING RACE. In a four-part series to be broadcast Tuesday, Nov. 16Friday, Nov. 19 (7:00-9:00 AM ET/PT), THE EARLY SHOW will offer viewers a glimpse at what its really like to compete in the Emmy Award-winning reality show, following Smith and Price as they run the first leg of the race from Chicago to Iceland.

This was a real test of our friendship, says Price. The lesson learned is that where one had a weakness, the other had a strength, and when one needed support, the other was there to motivate. I found out more about Harry than I ever thought I wouldand am now considering a restraining order.

I love Dave like a brother; just dont put us on an airplane together, Smith says.

While they are not an official team in the competition, Smith and Price lived out their dream of testing themselves and their friendship in THE AMAZING RACE, participating in all elements of the game and playing by the same rules as the official teams. They joined the other contestants at the starting point in Chicago, overcame the same roadblocks and obstacles, and struggled through the same grueling challenges. Like all contestants, Smith and Price searched for phones, maps, cash, credit cards and anything that might give them a leg up. Ultimately, Team Early Show made it to the first overseas pit-stop, Reykjavik, Iceland, with the other 11 AMAZING RACE teams who are competing for the $1 million prize.

The sixth edition of the Emmy Award-winning series debuts with a special two-hour edition on Tuesday, Nov. 16 (9:00-11:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. THE EARLY SHOW is broadcast weekdays (7:00-9:00 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Michael Bass is the senior executive producer and Victor Neufeld is the executive producer. John D'Amelio produced Harry and Dave's AMAZING RACE segments for THE EARLY SHOW.
