CBS SIGNS LONG-TERM AFFILIATION AGREEMENTS WITH MEREDITH CORPORATION FOR FOUR CBS STATIONS AND ONE UPN STATION

CBS and Meredith Corporation announced today that they have signed new long-term affiliation agreements covering four Meredith-owned CBS affiliates and one Meredith-owned UPN affiliate. The CBS stations are WGCL-TV Atlanta, KPHO-TV Phoenix, KCTV Kansas City and WNEM-TV Flint/Saginaw. The UPN station is KPDX Portland, OR.

Peter Schruth, President, Affiliate Relations, CBS and UPN, commented: "We welcome this opportunity to extend our partnership with the Meredith Broadcasting Group in these markets. Our companies share a strategic commitment to strengthening our audience and advertiser base, and these long-term affiliation agreements provide the valued continuity that is vital to our mutual efforts. We look forward to building our business together."

"We are extremely pleased to continue our relationship with CBS in these important television markets," said Meredith President and Chief Operating Officer Stephen M. Lacy. "The network's primetime line-up is second to none, and it plays a key role in our efforts to grow our news ratings in each of these markets."

CBS also has existing long-term affiliation agreements with Meredith-owned WFSB-TV Hartford-New Haven, CT and WSHM-TV Springfield/Holyoke, MA. The six Meredith-owned CBS stations reach more U.S. TV households (more than 6.3 million) than any other station group, with the exception of the CBS stations in the Viacom Television Stations Group.

CBS Television is comprised of the CBS Television Network, with more than 200 owned and affiliated stations reaching virtually every television home in the United States; the Network's programming arms, CBS Entertainment, CBS News and CBS Sports; and CBS Enterprises, a global leader in distribution.

Meredith Corporation (www.meredith.com) is one of the nation's leading media and marketing companies, with core competencies in magazine and book publishing, television broadcasting, integrated marketing and interactive media. Meredith owns and operates 13 television stations with a total reach of over nine percent of television households across the country, including CBS affiliates WGCL-TV Atlanta, KPHO-TV Phoenix, WFSB-TV Hartford-New Haven, KCTV Kansas City, WNEM-TV Flint/Saginaw and WSHM-TV Springfield/Holyoke, MA, plus UPN affiliate KPDX Portland, OR.
