Bravo Teams with America Online on the First-Ever On-Air/Online Simulcast of a Full Television Episode

[via press release from Bravo]

BRAVO TEAMS WITH AMERICA ONLINE ON THE FIRST-EVER ON-AIR/ONLINE SIMULCAST OF A FULL TELEVISION EPISODE

AOL TO FEATURE BRAVO'S FULL SNEAK PEEK EPISODE OF 'QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GIRL' AS EPISODE AIRS ON TV TUESDAY, JANUARY 11, AT 11 PM, PT

ENTIRE EPISODE WILL BE AVAILABLE ON AOL AND AOL.COM FOR A FULL WEEK

NEW YORK -- January 10, 2005 -- In an unprecedented agreement, Bravo and America Online will embark on the first-ever on-air/online simulcast of a full episode of a TV program, it was announced today by Lauren Zalaznick, President, Bravo, and Patricia Karpas, Vice President and General Manager, AOL Television. On Tuesday, January 11, at 11 PM, PT/2:00 AM, ET, AOL will offer Bravo's full sneak peek episode of its new series "Queer Eye for the Straight Girl" simultaneously with Bravo's West Coast airing. The episode will be available for a full week at AOL Keyword: Television and to Web users through the AOL.com Web site (tv.channel.aol.com).

"This is a great example of synergistic opportunities between television and the Internet," said Zalaznick. "This deal illustrates the innovative ways Bravo extends its brand and reach beyond its regular viewing audience. For viewers who are away from their home television sets, they can 'tune-in' to their laptops and not miss the sneak peek to this season's launch of the much anticipated 'Queer Eye for the Straight Girl' series."

Ms. Karpas added, "AOL has been a pioneer in bringing full television episodes online for consumers to enjoy. We believe offering full episodes, such as this sneak peek episode of 'Queer Eye for the Straight Girl,' is a great way to generate sampling and awareness for a show, while also bringing AOL consumers compelling online content."

The full-length bonus episode will feature "Hurry Dates" hostess Rebekah Devoran, a bubbly 20-something who is true to herself, but blue when it comes to romance. She hasn't had a date in two years, yet serves as hostess at "Hurry Dates" -- a speed round meet-and-greet of local singles looking for love. The Gal Pals are on a mission -- Rebekah is in for a "night of a dozen dates." Rebekah already has the self-confidence and poise of a woman capable of a loving relationship, but its up to the Gal Pals to get her off the bench and back in the game. Honey Labrador, Robbie Laughlin, Damon Pease and Danny Teeson star.

The series premiere episode of the series showcases the drab-turned-dynamite straight girl, Nicole Huntington and will debut as scheduled on Wednesday, January 12 at 10-11 p.m. ET, which will remain the timeslot for the series.

"Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and "Queer Eye for the Straight Girl" are produced for Bravo by Scout Productions.
