[via press release from ABC]

QUICK TAKE

JENNY MCCARTHY TO APPEAR ON ABC'S "EXTREME MAKEOVER"

Comedic actress/author Jenny McCarthy will appear in an episode of "Extreme Makeover," it was announced today. McCarthy will surprise her mother, Linda Konczal of suburban Chicago, IL, with a mini-makeover which will be headed by stylist Sam Saboura and other Extreme Team experts, THURSDAY, MARCH 24 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Linda Konczal works as a custodian in a Chicago area court house and refuses to quit her job. Her daughter wants to give her mother the celebrity treatment by whisking her away to Hollywood for a head-to-toe hair/makeup/wardrobe mini-makeover.

Jenny McCarthy ("Scary Movie 3," TV's "Jenny") has been acting for over a decade since she dropped out of nursing school to pursue acting. She stars in the upcoming TV series "The Bad Girls' Guide," and will be seen in her screenwriting film debut, "Dirty Love," directed by her husband, John Asher. She is also the best selling author of "Belly Laughs: The Naked Truth About Pregnancy and Childbirth" and "Baby Laughs: The Naked Truth About the First Year of Mommyhood."

Since its December 2002 premiere, "Extreme Makeover" has become a pop culture phenomenon. Now in its third season, the hit reality series has unveiled some of the most jaw-dropping transformations of people, dramatically and forever changing their lives and looks through plastic surgery. Each new episode features participants in their "before" phase, then as they undergo their various procedures and, finally, when the end results are revealed to their families and friends. The transformations are accomplished through the skills of an "Extreme Team," consisting of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, eye surgeons and cosmetic dentists, along with a talented team of hair and makeup artists, stylists and personal trainers.

The "Extreme Team" roster includes: prominent board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Garth Fisher, Dr. Anthony Griffin, Dr. Brent Moelleken, Dr. Jon A. Perlman, Dr. Harvey Zarem and Dr. Barbara Hayden; dentists Dr. William Dorfman, Dr. Steven Donia and Dr. Dennis Wells; dermatologist Ava T. Shamban; LASIK eye surgeon Dr. Robert Maloney; wardrobe stylist Sam Saboura; master body sculptor and rapid weight-loss expert Michael Thurmond; top hair stylists, including Kim Vo, John Allen, Umberto, Sally Hershberger and Oscar Blandi; and many celebrity makeup artists, including Darcy Gilmore and Anastasia.

"Extreme Makeover" is produced by New Screen Entertainment and Lighthearted Entertainment. Chuck Bangert, Lou Gorfain and Howard Schultz are the executive producers. Julie Laughlin is co- executive producer.
