NBC DEALS FOR NEW ALTERNATIVE SERIES 'DEAL OR NO DEAL,' AS PLAYERS RELY ON NERVES AND RAW INTUITION IN STUDIO-BASED COMPETITION FOR MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR TOP PRIZE

Format Will Be Based on International Hit Series from the Producers of NBC's "Fear Factor" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"

BURBANK - July 8, 2005 - NBC will broadcast "Deal or No Deal," a new unscripted series from the producers of NBC's "Fear Factor" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" that pits in-studio contestants against each other in a high-energy match of nerves, instincts and raw intuition for a top prize worth millions of dollars. The announcement was made today by Craig Plestis, Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming & Development.

The series is based on a previous format by its production company, Endemol USA and is currently a success internationally, being broadcast in 38 countries.

"This series is a proven winner that challenges contestants to overcome their own nerves in a pressure-cooker environment," said Plestis. "There are no physical stunts or trivia questions to answer. In order to claim a fortune, the winner will essentially have to know when to say 'when.'"

"'Deal or No Deal' is a big and exciting game show that contains nail-biting drama and hefty cash prizes," said David Goldberg, President of Endemol USA. "Its delivering huge numbers all around the world and we're confident in the shows ability to connect with viewers in the U.S."

"Deal or No Deal" is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA. The series is executive-produced by Scott St. John.
