PRODUCTION TEAM NAMED FOR THE "57TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS," TO BE BROADCAST SEPT. 18 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

Bruce Gowers Will Direct; Michael B. Seligman and Renato Basile Will Produce; Danette Herman Will Serve As Coordinating Producer and Executive in Charge of Talent

Ken Ehrlich, executive producer of the 57TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS, has announced his core production team for the awards telecast, to be broadcast Sunday, Sept. 18 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Bruce Gowers will direct; Renato Basile and Academy and Emmy Awards veteran Michael B. Seligman will produce. Danette Herman will return as coordinating producer and executive in charge of talent.

"We are very excited about creating a dynamic and refreshing Emmy telecast with the top notch production team we have assembled," Ehrlich said. "These talented individuals each bring their own creativity and expertise to the table and we are confident that audiences will embrace this year's show like never before."

Emmy Award-winning Bruce Gowers came to the U.S. in the late 1970s after creating and directing some of the music industry's most remembered music videos, including Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and Rod Stewart's "Tonight's the Night." His directing credits include numerous awards shows such as "The Billboard Music Awards," "The American Music Awards," the "MTV Movie Awards" and, on CBS, the "People's Choice Awards." He has directed specials for artists including Prince, Britney Spears, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and others. He currently directs "American Idol" and was honored this year with a Directors Guild of America award for the CBS special "Genius: A Night for Ray Charles."

Specializing in live broadcasts around the world, producer Michael B. Seligman has more than 300 major events to his credit including 16 years as supervising producer of the "Primetime Emmy Awards." A three-time Emmy nominee, Seligman has served as associate, supervising and executive producer for various Academy Awards broadcasts. He was supervising producer of "CBS at 75" and "Christopher Reeve: A Celebration of Hope." Seligman also served as producer for the Museum of Television and Radio's first special, "Funny Women of Television," the last five "Environmental Media Awards," "The Eighth International Special Olympics Program" and co-produced "Celebration of Truth" with David Wolper and Jack Haley, Jr.

Producer Renato Basile has worked for Ken Ehrlich Productions since 1988 as producer, associate producer and executive in charge of production. His credits include 14 Grammy Awards, event specials including "Come Together: A Night for John Lennon," "Countdown to Kickoff: The NFL Times Square Concert," and numerous television specials for artists including Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Elton John on the Network, as well as Bon Jovi, Simon and Garfunkel, and most recently, the "Eagles Farewell 1 Live" special.

As coordinating producer and executive in charge of talent, Danette Herman has long associations with some of television's biggest productions. This will be her 16th year as part of the "Primetime Emmy Awards" production team. She recently completed the "77th Annual Academy Awards" telecast, her 29th non-consecutive show. Her other credits include "An American Celebration at Ford's Theatre," "CBS at 75" and "The Kennedy Center Honors" on the Network, and "Christopher Reeve: A Celebration of Hope," for which she was nominated for an Emmy.

The 57TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS is being produced by Ken Ehrlich Productions. Nominations for the 57TH ANNUAL PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS will be announced on July 14 at 5:39 AM PT from the Academy's Leonard H. Goldstein Theatre in North Hollywood.
