SCI FI ANNOUNCES NEW PUBLIC AFFAIRS INITIATIVE VISIONS FOR TOMORROW

Campaign Champions Positive Future Vision Incorporating Inspirational 'Greetings From Tomorrow' Interstitials to Debut This Fall

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- July 15, 2005 -- In an exciting campaign designed to champion a bold, new, vision of tomorrow, Bonnie Hammer, President of USA Network and SCI FI Channel, today announced the launch of the channel's new public affairs initiative Visions for Tomorrow. Through interstitial public service spots and advocacy based public affairs efforts, SCI FI will encourage the public to imagine and strive for a daring new, optimistic view of the future. In on-air "Greetings From Tomorrow" spots premiering this fall, the youth of tomorrow send their thanks for actions we will have taken in our time to make their world a better place. Outreach will also extend off-channel via a Website www.visionsfortomorrow.org and original literature to enforce the notion that individuals can have significant, positive impact on the human condition.

"For nearly 13 years SCI FI Channel has fueled the imagination of our viewers with speculative images of the future," said Bonnie Hammer. "Now we want to challenge them to imagine something that hits closer to home. What will the world be like for generations to come? It is more important now than ever that we use our imaginations to discover new and exciting ways to realize a brighter future. "

History shows that positive future thinking has played a crucial role in all modern development. "We want to be smarter about the future," Hammer added. "SCI FI will dedicate itself to becoming an active catalyst for innovation-to fuel it, to support it, and to create it"

In May 2004, SCI FI conducted a two-day think tank bringing together a diverse group of visionary thinkers with the Channel's creative and executive team to develop scenarios about the future. Visions For Tomorrow was born out of that collaborative experience and evolved into an ambitious campaign that will:

SUPPORT local, state and national programs that spur entrepreneurship and innovation;

CHAMPION the notion that individuals can have significant, positive impact on the human condition;

INVESTIGATE an anthology of ideas for improving life on Earth;

FOSTER an environment for educators and students to create innovative ways to improve the quality of life in their communities or to enhance the well being of people in general;

INCREASE the chances for individuals to meet the challenges of the future.

PSA Campaign: Greetings From Tomorrow

What if future generations were able to speak to us? What would they say? This Fall, SCI FI will introduce its viewers to a series of inspirational interstitial spots that will feature an international medley of youngsters, a generation not yet born, as they deliver personal messages of thanks, optimism and hope. As we look back at our own era through their eyes, we gain a fresh view of our own values, choices, and impact. If they had a voice today, what would they ask us to do for them? The campaign will be showcased on the Channel, as well as at the campaign Web site www.visionsfortomorrow.org.
