The Premiere of "Out of Practice" Places Second to Football In Viewers While Retaining 85% of Its Viewer and Adult 18-49 Lead-in

CBS's Monday premieres placed a solid second opposite an unprecedented primetime football doubleheader on ABC, according to preliminary Nielsen affiliate ratings for Sept. 19, the first night of the 2005-2006 television season.

The season premiere of THE KING OF QUEENS was second in households (6.9/11), viewers (10.44m) and tied for second in adults 25-54 (4.1/10, with NBC) -- all behind ABC's primetime football bonus coverage.

The series premiere of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (7.2/11, 10.65m) improved on its KING OF QUEENS by +4% in households, +5% in adults 25-54, +6% in adults 18-49 and added +210,000 viewers. In key demographics, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER averaged a 4.3/10 in adults 25-54 and 3.6/09 in adults 18-49.

The season premiere of TWO AND A HALF MEN was second behind football in households (9.9/14), viewers (15.23m), adults 25-54 (6.3/13) and adults 18-49 (5.2/12). TWO AND A HALF MEN built on its HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER lead-in by +38% in households, +47% in adults 25-54, +44% in adults 18-49 and added +4.58m viewers.

The series premiere of OUT OF PRACTICE was second in households (8.7/13) and viewers (13.39m), both behind football, while retaining 85% of its lead-in in both viewers and adults 18-49 (4.4/10) and 87% in adults 25-54 (5.5/11).

The fourth season premiere of CSI: MIAMI topped "Monday Night Football," winning its time period in households (12.1/19), viewers (18.61m), adults 25-54 (7.8/17) and adults 18-49 (6.5/16).

For the night, CBS is second in households (9.5/14), viewers (14.49m), adults 25-54 (6.0/13) and adults 18-49 (4.9/12), all behind ABC's tentative number with football.

CBS's Monday premieres placed a solid second opposite an unprecedented primetime football doubleheader on ABC, according to final national Nielsen ratings for Sept. 19, the first night of the 2005-2006 television season.

The season premiere of THE KING OF QUEENS was second in households (7.0/11), viewers (10.74m), adults 18-49 (3.6/10) and tied for second in adults 25-54 (4.2/10, with NBC) -- all behind ABC's primetime football bonus coverage.

The series premiere of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER (7.3/11, 10.94m) improved on KING OF QUEENS by +4% in households, +7% in adults 25-54 (4.5/10), +8% in adults 18-49 (3.9/10) and added +200,000 viewers.

The season premiere of TWO AND A HALF MEN was second behind football in households (9.8/14), viewers (15.04m), adults 25-54 (6.3/13) and adults 18-49 (5.1/12). TWO AND A HALF MEN built on its HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER lead-in by +34% in households, +40% in adults 25-54, +31% in adults 18-49 and added +4.10m viewers.

The series premiere of OUT OF PRACTICE was second in households (8.6/12) and viewers (13.18m), both behind football, while retaining 88% of its lead-in in viewers, 84% in adults 18-49 (4.3/10) and 86% in adults 25-54 (5.4/11).

The fourth season premiere of CSI: MIAMI topped "Monday Night Football," winning its time period in households (12.3/19), viewers (19.21m), adults 25-54 (8.1/18) and adults 18-49 (6.7/16). CSI: MIAMI attracted +3.25m more viewers than the 10:00-11:00PM portion of "Monday Night Football" and led ABC by +14% in adults 25-54 (vs. 7.1/16) and +5% in adults 18-49 (vs. 6.4/16).

For the night, CBS was second in households (9.6/14), viewers (14.72m), adults 25-54 (6.1/14) and adults 18-49 (5.0/12), all behind ABC's night of primetime football.
