CBS Drama Wins Its Time Period in Viewers and Key Demographics

"NCIS" Soars To Its Most Watched and Highest Rated Season Premiere in Adults 18-49, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-34 With Significant Year-to-Year Increases

The Finale of "Rock Star: INXS" Delivers Series Highs in Viewers and Key Demographics

The third season premiere of NCIS won its time period in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 as the CBS drama delivered its most watched and highest premiere ratings in key demographics ever, according to preliminary Nielsen affiliate ratings for Tuesday, Sept. 20.

At 8:00 PM, NCIS was first in households (9.3/15), viewers (14.69m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.5/10). Compared to the 9/28/04 premiere of NCIS, CBS was up +7% in adults 25-54 (from 4.5/11), +9% in adults 18-49 (from 3.2/09), +15% in adults 18-34 (2.3/07 from 2.0/06) and added +360,000m viewers (from 14.33m).

This is the most watched and highest rated season premiere for NCIS in adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.

At 10:00 PM, the finale of ROCK STAR: INXS was second in households (5.1/08), viewers (7.90m), adults 18-34 (3.0/09), adults 18-49 (3.9/10) and adults 25-54 (4.3/10). If the ratings hold, these are all series highs in households, viewers and key demos.

Final Tuesday ratings will be available this afternoon.

The third season premiere of NCIS won its time period in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 as the CBS drama delivered its most watched and highest premiere ratings in households and key demographics ever according to final national Nielsen ratings for Tuesday, Sept. 20.

At 8:00 PM, NCIS was first in households (9.7/15), viewers (15.48m), adults 25-54 (5.2/13) and adults 18-49 (3.8/11). Compared to the 9/28/04 premiere of NCIS, CBS was up +4% in households (from 9.3/15), +16% in adults 25-54 (from 4.5/11), +19% in adults 18-49 (from 3.2/09), +20% in adults 18-34 (2.4/08 from 2.0/06) and added +1.15m viewers (from 14.33m).

This is the most watched and highest rated season premiere for NCIS in households, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. This is the program's second best adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 delivery ever.

At 10:00 PM, the finale of ROCK STAR: INXS (5.0/08, 7.83m) was second in viewers, adults 18-34 (3.0/08), adults 18-49 (3.8/10) and adults 25-54 (4.3/10). This is the best delivery of any episode of ROCK STAR: INXS in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.
