[via press release from ABC]

ROB ESTES CAST IN MIDSEASON DRAMA SERIES, THE EVIDENCE, SCHEDULED TO START PRODUCTION IN MID-OCTOBER FOR THE ABC TELEVISION NETWORK

Actor Rob Estes (Melrose Place) has been set to play the role of Detective Sean Cole in the midseason drama series, The Evidence, for the ABC Television Network. Scheduled to begin production October 14, the series also stars Orlando Jones (Runaway Jury, MAD TV) as Inspector Cayman Bishop and Martin Landau (Ed Wood) as Dr. Sol Gold.

From acclaimed producer John Wells (ER, The West Wing, Third Watch) and director Gary Fleder (Blind Justice, Runaway Jury), the series puts a twist on the standard police procedural. At the top of each episode, all of the clues are revealed in a videotaped evidence log. The show then flashes to the day the crime was committed and invites viewers to play along with the investigators as they find each clue, determine its meaning, put the pieces of the puzzle together and figure out who committed the crime.

No one knows the importance of evidence more than Inspector Sean Cole. After the brutal murder of his wife and a botched police investigation, Cole lost his faith in the justice system. Fortunately his partner and best friend, Bishop, is there for him, pulling him back to work, pushing him forward, as they try to solve these complex cases in the streets of San Francisco.

The series will be filmed on location in San Francisco and Vancouver, B.C.

The Evidence is executive-produced by Sam Baum and Dustin Thomason. Nelson McCormick is co-executive producer and Christopher Chulack is consulting producer. The drama series is from John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television Production Inc.
