Burbank, CA (October 19, 2005) ABC Family has picked up eight additional episodes for the first season of the original drama series, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, it was announced today by Paul Lee, president, ABC Family. Eight additional one-hour episodes will be produced by Sony Pictures Television to premiere in 2006. The drama series centers on the Kerr Family who move from a small town in New Mexico to the bright lights of New York City. The series stars veteran actress Daphne Zuniga ("Melrose Place") as Lynn Kerr alongside newcomers Sarah Foret and Torrey DeVitto as her daughters. Additional cast members include Jackson Rathbone, Ricky Mabe, Kathleen Munroe and Jordan Madley.

"We are thrilled to add eight more episodes of BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE to the season order," said Lee. "Our audiences love this show, and Michael and Paul have such a strong vision for its future.

Though the city is filled with challenges, with each others support, all three women venture on a journey of self-discovery in the city where anything is possible.

The series is executive produced by Paul Stupin (Dawsons Creek) and Michael Rauch (Love Monkey), who also created and wrote the pilot. BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
