Network Wins Adults 25-54 for Third Consecutive Week and Adults 18-49 for Second Straight Week

Buoyed by a record setting performance by NCIS, season best numbers for AMAZING RACE 8 and strong victories for CSI, CSI: MIAMI, WITHOUT A TRACE, 60 MINUTES and SURVIVOR: GUATEMALA, CBS claimed its fifth consecutive victory in viewers and households, while winning in adults 25-54 for the third consecutive week and in adults 18-49 for the second straight week, in the week ending Oct. 23, the fifth week of the 2005-2006 television season.

This is the first time one network has won the first five weeks of the television season in viewers since the 1997-98 season. Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +10% in households, +11% in both adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 and +8% in adults 18-34.

CBS had five of the Top 10 programs in both viewers and adults 25-54, and four of the top 10 in adults 18-49.

For the week, CBS (13.08m) beat FOX (10.63m), ABC (10.46m) and NBC (9.32m). Season to date, CBS (12.95m) is first, followed by ABC (11.06m), NBC (9.51m) and FOX (8.90m).

For the week in households, CBS (8.6/14) was first, with a +25% advantage over FOX (6.9/11), +26% over ABC (6.8/11) and +37% over NBC (6.3/10). Season-to-date, CBS (8.4/14) leads the pack, outpacing ABC by +17% (7.2/12), NBC by +31% (6.4/10) and FOX by +45% (5.8/09).

In demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (5.1/12) for the third consecutive week and first in adults 18-49 (4.1/11) for the second week in a row.

� THE KING OF QUEENS was first in households (7.0/11), viewers (10.47m) and adults 25-54 (4.4/11) for the fourth consecutive week and first in adults 18-49 (3.5/10) for the third in time in four weeks. Compared to the same night last year (STILL STANDING), THE KING OF QUEENS was up +8% in households, +13% in adults 25-54 and +9% in adults 18-49.

� HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in adults 25-54 (4.7/11), adults 18-49 (3.9/10) and adults 18-34 (3.0/09), tied for first in households (6.7/10, with FOX) and second in viewers (10.14m). Compared to last week, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER is up +5% in households, +18% in adults 25-54, +15% in adults 18-49 and +11% in adults 18-34.

� TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in households (10.2/15), viewers (15.56m), adults 25-54 (6.7/14) and adults 18-49 (5.5/13). This is TWO AND A HALF MEN's best delivery since moving to this time period this season. Compared to last week, TWO AND A HALF MEN was up +4% in households, +6% in adults 25-54 and +10% in adults 18-49.

� CSI: MIAMI was first in households (12.1/19), viewers (17.91m), adults 25-54 (7.5/17) and adults 18-49 (6.2/15). CSI: MIAMI was the top rated program in households and adults 25-54 and Monday's most watched program for the fifth time this season, as well as the Number One program in adults 18-49 for the fourth time in five weeks.

� NCIS was first in households (11.6/18), viewers (17.69m), adults 25-54 (6.1/15) and adults 18-49 (4.3/12) for the fifth consecutive week. This is the highest rated episode of NCIS ever for the third consecutive week as well as the drama's best adults 25-54 delivery ever. It is the most watched episode ever and the first time the program delivered more than 17.5 million viewers. NCIS was Tuesday's most watched program for the second consecutive week, delivering almost +1.4m more viewers than ABC's "Commander In Chief" (16.30m).

� THE AMAZING RACE 8 was second in households (7.0/10), viewers (11.11m), adults 25-54 (5.4/12), adults 18-49 (4.5/11) and adults 18-34 (3.1/09). This is the best delivery of this edition of THE AMAZING RACE in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54.

� CRIMINAL MINDS retained 96% of its household delivery from last week, 93% of its adults 18-49 performance and 89% of its adults 25-54 while gaining in adults 18-34 (2.9/08 from 2.8/08, +4%). CRIMINAL MINDS was up +31% in households, +14% in adults 25-54, +5% in adults 18-49 and +7% in adults 18-34 compared to the time period last year (a special CSI: MIAMI rebroadcast).

� CSI: NY was second in households (9.1/14), viewers (14.00m), adults 25-54 (5.6/13) and adults 18-49 (4.8/12) -- all behind FOX's baseball. CSI: NY easily topped NBC's "Law & Order" by +8% in households (vs. 8.4/13), +12% in adults 25-54 (vs. 5.0/12), +17% in adults 18-49 (vs. 4.1/10) and +14% in viewers (vs. 12.33m).

� SURVIVOR: GUATEMALA -- THE MAYA EMPIRE won its time period in households (10.5/17), viewers (17.78m), adults 25-54 (7.5/19), adults 18-49 (6.1/17) and adults 18-34 (4.1/13). SURVIVOR beat ABC, NBC and FOX combined in viewers (vs. 17.30m, +3%), adults 25-54 (vs. 7.4/18, +1%) and nearly beat the three networks combined in adults 18-49 (vs. 6.3/18).

� CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (17.7/27), viewers (28.48m), adults 25-54 (11.7/26), adults 18-49 (9.7/24) and adults 18-34 (7.4/21). CSI: was the night's most watched and top rated program in households, adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54. CSI: beat ABC, NBC and FOX combined in viewers (vs. 17.52m, +63%), adults 25-54 (vs. 8.5/19, +38%), adults 18-49 (vs. 7.5/19, +29%) and adults 18-34 (vs. 6.2/18, +19%).

� WITHOUT A TRACE won its time period in households (13.4/22), viewers (19.82m), second in adults 25-54 (7.4/18), adults 18-49 (6.1/16) and adults 18-34 (4.5/13). WITHOUT A TRACE was up +6% in households, +3% in adults 18-49 and +13% in adults 18-34 compared to the same night last year.

� GHOST WHISPERER (8:00-9:00 PM) won its time period in households (7.0/12), viewers (10.55m), adults 25-54 (4.1/12) and adults 18-49 (2.9/10). Compared to last week, GHOST WHISPERER was up +4% in households, +21% in adults 25-54 and +23% in adults 18-49. Compared to the same night last year, GHOST WHISPERER was up +43% in households, +46% in adults 25-54 and +38% in adults 18-49.

� NUMB3RS (10:00-11:00PM) was first for the fifth consecutive week in households (7.2/13), viewers (11.18m), adults 25-54 (4.3/12) and first for the fourth time in five weeks in adults 18-49 (3.2/10). NUMB3RS was the night's most watched program and top rated in households, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the fourth consecutive Friday. Compared to the same night last year ("dr. vegas"), NUMB3RS was up +41% in households, +54% in adults 25-54 and +60% in adults 18-49.

� 48 HOURS MYSTERY was second in households (5.9/10), viewers (8.37m), adults 25-54 (2.9/08) and adults 18-49 (2.2/07) -- all behind FOX's World Series Game 1 coverage. Compared to the same night last year, 48 HOURS MYSTERY was up +44% in households, +32% in adults 25-54 and +29% in adults 18-49.

� 60 MINUTES was first in households (10.6/17), viewers (16.02m), adults 25-54 (5.3/12) and in adults 18-49 (4.3/11). This matches 60 MINUTES best adults 25-54 delivery this season and is the best adults 18-49 delivery since 1/16/05. 60 MINUTES was up +7% in households, +20% in adults 25-54 and +23% in adults 18-49 compared to the same night last year.
