In this episode, Veronica stumbles on her mothers high-school records and learns that she was suspended for reasons that cause Veronica to further question everything she knows about her mom. Meanwhile, with production of her "Aaron Echolls Story" TV-movie underway, Trina Echolls (guest star Alyson Hannigan) returns to direct a Neptune High play and takes an immediate dislike to Logans new flame Kendall Casablancas (guest star Charisma Carpenter).

In the exclusive alternate ending on AOL.com, a familiar character is murdered practically before Veronica's eyes.

VERONICA MARS airs Wednesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.

After discovering that Logan Echolls' movie star father murdered Lilly Kane, the now-vindicated Mars family finds themselves embroiled in another season-long mystery hitting closer to home, following a new local tragedy. Meanwhile, after a summer of surprises and sordid murder trials, Logan and best friend Duncan Kane find themselves at odds, while Veronica must deal with her increasingly complicated romantic life and a whole new school year with familiar and surprising fresh faces, including Logan's carousing buddies Dick and Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas and Jackie Cook, the fiery, flirty daughter of a professional baseball player.

The series stars Kristen Bell ("Deadwood") as Veronica Mars, Enrico Colantoni ("Just Shoot Me") as Keith Mars, Percy Daggs III ("The Guardian") as Wallace Fennel, Teddy Dunn ("The Manchurian Candidate") as Duncan Kane, Jason Dohring ("Judging Amy") as Logan Echolls, Francis Capra ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation") as Eli "Weevil" Navarro, and Tessa Thompson ("Cold Case") as Jackie Cook, Kyle Gallner ("Red Eye") as Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas, and Ryan Hansen ("Las Vegas") as Dick Casablancas.
