NBC PRIMETIME RESULTS FOR THE WEEK OF DEC. 26-JAN. 1

BURBANK, Calif. -- January 4, 2006 -- NBC averaged a 2.3 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 7.0 million viewers for the week of Dec. 26, 2005-Jan. 1, 2006, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Primetime averages for the week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1 in adults 18-49 were ABC (2.8/8), CBS (2.6/8), NBC and Fox (2.3/7), Univision (1.4/4), UPN (1.0/3) and WB (0.9/3). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (10.1 million), ABC (8.1 million), NBC (7.0 million), Fox (5.7 million), Univision (3.4 million), UPN (2.6 million) and WB (2.2 million). Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted.

NBC highlights for the week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1:

* On Tuesday, an encore "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" was the television's top-rated show of the night in adults 18-49, winning its hour in 18-49 and virtually all other key demographics.

* Also on Tuesday, a rebroadcast of "My Name is Earl" ranked #1 in its time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 and an original "Fear Factor" tied for #1 in 18-49, while winning its slot outright in adults, men and women 18-34.

* On Friday, a two-hour "Dateline NBC" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. NBC tied for first place Friday in 18-49, marking the second week in a row that NBC was #1 or tied for #1 on Friday night.

Additional NBC highlights for the week of Dec. 26-Jan. 1:

On Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 8 p.m. ET, "Fear Factor" (3.0 rating, 9 share in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49 (tied with CBS' "NCIS" encore) and in adults, men and women 18-34. At 8:30 p.m. ET, an encore "My Name is Earl" (3.5/10 in 18-49, 8.5 million viewers overall) ranked #1 for the time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and adults 25-54.

That night at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: SVU" (3.6/11 in 18-49, 9.9 million viewers overall) was the top-rated telecast on television Tuesday in the key demographic of adults 18-49. "SVU" was #1 in its hour in 18-49, 18-34, 25-54 and virtually all key male and female demographics.

On Wednesday, Dec. 28 from 10-11 p.m. ET, an encore "Law & Order" (2.7/8 in 18-49, 9.1 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and all other key demos.

On Thursday, Dec. 29, from 10-11 p.m. ET, an "ER" rebroadcast (2.8/8 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in adults, men and women 18-34.

On Friday, Dec. 30 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.2/7 in 18-49, 8.6 million viewers overall) won its time period in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. NBC tied for #1 on Friday in adults 18-49 (with CBS), marking the second week in a row that NBC has earned a share of the Friday lead.

On New Year's Eve, Saturday, Dec. 31 from 8-11 p.m. ET, the 2001 movie "A Knight's Tale" (1.6/6 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) tied for #2 in adults 18-49, building by 46 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half-hour to its last (to a 1.9 from a 1.3).
